Linux on Samsung DeX previewed at SDC 2018

Samsung DeX is one of the most underrated features of the Samsung Galaxy smartphones. With this feature, you would be able to dock your smartphone to the monitor using the DeX cable or DeX dock to have a desktop environment and also allow the usage of keyboard and mouse.

Recently at SDC 2018, Samsung has previewed Linux running on Samsung DeX. Yep, it’s just a smartphone that is powering this one and it’s perfect for developers as they can code anywhere they want. This will definitely bring joy to the developer community and it will bring convenience and flexibility to them.

Linux on DeX currently supports a customized Ubuntu image which can only run on selected Samsung devices which are the Samsung Galaxy Note9 and the Galaxy Tab S4.

Private beta of Linux on DeX is now ongoing but if you want to participate the beta, you can actually pre-register here until December 14, 2018.
