Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph is one of the company’s first Windows device and until now, the tablet is still on sale and many people are still wooed by its ability to play and run Windows applications such as Microsoft Office and Warcraft III. Actually, we’ve reviewed this tablet before and we think it is awesome for its price. But today, we’ll review the same device but this time, it can run both Windows and Android.
In case you’re wondering about what I think about the Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph before, check out this link: http://jamonline.ph/2015/03/cherry-mobile-alpha-morph-review.html
Design and Construction
The Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph is a very portable device. One thing that I really like about it is that the tablet is handy and I can bring it anywhere and it can even fit into my small bag. The tablet also comes with a keyboard and touchpad too which also acts as the cover of the tablet.
The Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph Dual Boot might look like the Microsoft Surface but this one is VERY affordable and this one comes with keyboard cover with the touchpad but unfortunately, the keyboard has smaller keys and touchpad and sometimes the tablet keyboard has bugs and doesn’t work well especially when charging. But hey, at least, the Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph Dual Boot comes with a keyboard and touchpad that also acts as the stand of the tablet.
Again, the tablet isn’t different from the original one and it still comes with the ports that you need. There’s the MicroUSB, Mini HDMI, MicroSD card slot, and Microphone jack. Don’t you worry about USB because there’s an included USB OTG out of the box. One advantage of having the Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph compared to other tablets is that there’s a dedicated charger port for the tablet.
Display
There’s a 10.1-inch display on this tablet and it doesn’t change from the original. Still, the 10-inch display has a WXGA resolution and is bright at most usage but it still usable outside. For its price, the tablet’s display is good and I’m really satisfied with it.
Software and Performance
One advantage of having the Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph Dual boot is having 2 operating systems on one device. The dual booting of this tablet doesn’t work the same with other devices. With the Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph Dual Boot, you have to restart your device to choose between Android and Windows.
With Android, the Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph Dual Boot is very powerful. Its processor can run Windows so it is expected that this tablet will run smoother and better and Android and yes, the Quad-Core Intel Atom Z3735F Processor inside this tablet is powerful and it doesn’t disappoint. Even high-end games would run on this device without problems including Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Asphalt 8.
However in the Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph Dual Boot, there are a few games and applications that don’t work with its Intel Processor which may be a bummer for some gamers because some games need to be updated to work with the device. But don’t worry because most games are being updated in order to work on this device.
On Windows, the tablet is not so powerful. Yes, It can run most of the basic apps that the tablet needed including Microsoft Office and Google Chrome but it using the Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph as your main PC wouldn’t be ideal because of its power unless you’ll just use this as a Facebook machine.
Some of the games that you can run on this device on Windows are Civilization V, League of Legends, and CS:GO.
Verdict
The Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph Dual Boot is a great tablet. It’s really a nice device especially if you work on-the-go and if you want an affordable device that can run basic Windows applications then the Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph Dual is a great device for you. Not only that you can work with this device but you can also play mobile games with its Android operating system. It’s a great device for students who just need a device for typing their thesis and documentations and for those people who needs a Windows device that doesn’t need too much power.
