Clicks has unveiled its Power Keyboard accessory with a built-in battery, addressing one of the main drawbacks of earlier physical keyboard add-ons for smartphones. Clicks is known for creating a physical QWERTY keyboard for smartphones similar to the Blackberry keyboards.

The updated Clicks Power Keyboard no longer depends entirely on a phone’s battery to operate. Instead, the keyboard now carries its own power source, allowing users to type for longer periods without affecting their device’s battery life.

The Power Keyboard retains its physical key layout, inspired by classic BlackBerry-style devices. By using physical keys, users can type without covering the screen, keeping more content visible. There is a trade-off with the new design. Because the keyboard now has its own battery, it also needs to be charged separately. This adds another device to manage, but Clicks appears to view this as a reasonable compromise for improved usability and reduced strain on the phone itself.

The keyboard can also be used for other devices such as VR headsets, tablets, and many more. As long as the device has a magsafe connection, the clicks keyboard can stick to the back of any smartphone.
