Sony has introduced the Sony WF-1000XM6, their latest generation of its flagship wireless earbuds. The new model builds on the WF-1000XM5 with improvements in noise canceling, sound processing, connectivity, and comfort.
The Sony WF-1000XM6 delivers up to 25% better noise reduction compared to the previous generation. It is powered by Sony’s next-generation HD Noise Canceling Processor QN3e, working together with the Integrated Processor V2 for more precise real-time control of ambient sound.
Each earbud now features four microphones, up from three on the WF-1000XM5. Sony says this allows better suppression of mid-to-high frequency noise, common in travel and busy urban environments. The Adaptive Noise Canceling Optimizer analyzes both external noise and wearing conditions in real time to maintain consistent performance.
The Sony WF-1000XM6 introduces 32-bit processing through the Integrated Processor V2, an upgrade from the previous 24-bit architecture. The QN3e processor also improves DAC amplifier performance, aiming to deliver clearer detail and reduced distortion.
The earbuds support Hi-Res Audio Wireless, DSEE Extreme, 360 Reality Audio, head tracking, and a customizable 10-band EQ through the Sony Sound Connect app.
Call performance has also been upgraded on the Sony WF-1000XM6. Each earbud integrates a bone conduction sensor, dual microphones, and AI beamforming noise reduction to better isolate the user’s voice in noisy environments.
Bluetooth performance has been improved with a redesigned antenna that is 1.5 times larger than the previous model. The earbuds also support LE Audio for lower latency, making them suitable for video and gaming use.
Sony redesigned the WF-1000XM6 with a slimmer body that is approximately 11% thinner than its predecessor. A new ventilation structure helps reduce internal noise such as footsteps and chewing sounds, contributing to a more stable listening experience.
Battery life is rated at up to 8 hours of listening on a single charge, with up to 24 hours total using the charging case. The case supports Qi wireless charging. The Sony WF-1000XM6 is available in Platinum Silver and Black.
