OPPO Reno11 Review: Design and hardware

One of the features that OPPO is banking on with the Reno series is the new and sleek design of the OPPO Reno11 5G. First, the colors are Rock Grey and Wave Green. The review unit that we got comes in Rock Grey and the back does shine when the light reflects to it. It does add beauty to a simple color. It’s still made up of plastic though but it made the smartphone lighter.

As for the ergonomics, the smartphone is very comfortable to hold. There’s the sleek and curved back which makes the smartphone better to hold but the frosted plastic back cover feels a little bit slippery to hold so I highly recommend using the case with the smartphone.

For the basics, there’s the USB-C port that supports 67W SUPERVOOC charging along with SIM card tray and also the speaker grill. While on the side, there’s the volume rocker along with the power button.

At the back, there’s the unique camera module design. It’s called Sunshine Ring design and it’s really eye-catching when looking at it.

OPPO Reno11 Review: Display

When it comes to its display, the OPPO Reno11 comes with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED Display with curved sides. It comes with a Dragon Trail Star 2 glass which protects it. As for the quality of the display, we do like the colors of the smartphone and it’s bright enough to be used outside even under direct sunlight thanks to its 800 nits brightness.

Aside from that, there’s the 120Hz refresh rate which gives a smooth scrolling and navigation experience on the smartphone and also gives you a better advantage when playing games on the smartphone.

OPPO Reno11 Review: Battery life

As for its battery, it comes with a pretty standard 5000mAh battery along with 67W SUPERVOOC Charging. It’s pretty much what we can expect from an OPPO smartphone – it’s a long battery life and also fast charging. We tested it on the PCMark Work 3.0 battery test and we got a score of 15 hours and 49 minutes which is pretty long.

OPPO Reno11 Review: Software and performance

The smartphone runs on ColorOS 14 based on Android 14. It’s clean and it’s really easy on the eyes. ColorOS does have some cool features inside of course including floating windows, smart sidebar and more. In my usage, I didn’t experience any lags on the smartphone and it was fun to use.

As for its performance, the smartphone comes with MediaTek DImensity 7050 chipset along with 12GB of RAM. Of course, the smartphone will run most apps and games just fine. There were no heating issues when I tried to play games on the smartphone for a brief time.

It may not be the most powerful chip in its price range but the OPPO Reno11 5G will be able to do most of the stuff that you need on a smartphone. In our test, what I liked about it is that the chipset does have a stable and consistent performance despite playing for a brief time.

OPPO Reno11 5G Review: Camera

The camera is where the OPPO Reno11 5G shines. It’s also the biggest feature that was changed from the previous generation. The OPPO Reno11 now packs a Sony LYT600 sensor inside and it comes with a 50MP main camera, 32MP telephoto portrait camera, and also an 8MP ultra-wide camera.

Thanks to its telephoto camera, the smartphone can do pretty good zoomed shots and even portrait shots that resemble the focal of a mirrorless camera. It gives off better portrait camera shots than other smartphones which is a plus for me.

Most shots at well-lit conditions will do just fine on the smartphone and selfies were pretty good as well on the smartphone.

OPPO Reno11 5G Review: Verdict

cuva

The OPPO Reno11 5G might come with a little bit of price but the smartphone does offer something that others can’t and that’s the portrait shots and also its camera engine. It’s not the most powerful chipset out there but the smartphone will do just fine if you’re just into using the most basic apps and games, it also has a long battery life, and the looks of the smartphone is pretty sleek.

Now if you want a smartphone and you love taking portrait photos then you might want to consider this one, the OPPO Reno11 5G.
