ASUS has expanded its gaming monitor lineup with the launch of three new models under its Republic of Gamers (ROG) portfolio, introducing the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG Gen2, ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDMS, and ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMES.

Announced on March 12 in Manila, the new 27-inch QHD gaming monitors are designed to deliver high-end OLED performance while making premium display technology more accessible to a broader audience of gamers.

According to ASUS, the new models combine fast refresh rates, ultra-low response times, and advanced OLED protection technologies to offer immersive visuals and responsive gameplay for both casual and competitive players.

27-inch QHD OLED displays designed for competitive gaming

The three new monitors feature 2560 x 1440 QHD resolution across 27-inch panels and are designed to deliver the deep contrast and vibrant colors commonly associated with OLED displays.

The ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG Gen2 uses a TrueBlack Glossy WOLED panel, while both the ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDMS and ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMES feature QD-OLED panels with a semi-glossy finish designed to balance color vibrancy and glare reduction.

To enhance motion clarity during fast-paced gameplay, ASUS equipped the monitors with 0.03ms gray-to-gray response times, helping reduce motion blur and ghosting in competitive titles.

Refresh rates vary between models. The XG27ACDMS offers the highest refresh rate at 280Hz, while the XG27AQDMG Gen2 and XG27AQDMES support 240Hz refresh rates.

These specifications are designed to provide smoother visuals and faster response times, particularly in esports and high-frame-rate gaming environments.

OLED Care Pro helps reduce burn-in risks

To improve long-term reliability, the monitors include ASUS’ OLED Care Pro protection suite. One of the key features is a Neo Proximity Sensor, which automatically dims the display when the user steps away from the screen. This helps reduce the risk of OLED burn-in during extended idle periods.

Users can also customize detection distance and other OLED protection settings through the ASUS DisplayWidget Center, allowing adjustments to be made directly through Windows instead of navigating traditional on-screen display menus.

ASUS said each monitor comes with a three-year warranty, providing additional assurance for users adopting OLED displays for gaming.

Enhanced motion clarity and visual comfort

Beyond color accuracy and contrast, ASUS also introduced several technologies designed to improve gameplay visibility and comfort.

These include Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) technology to reduce ghosting effects and ROG OLED Anti-Flicker technology that stabilizes visuals during fluctuating frame rates.

The monitors also include aspect ratio control, allowing players to switch to smaller display sizes such as the 24.5-inch esports standard, which some competitive gamers prefer for familiarity and focus. In addition, each display undergoes factory pre-calibration to ensure accurate color reproduction, supported by a 99% DCI-P3 color gamut and 10-bit color depth.

AI-powered features and customizable controls

ASUS has also added several AI-assisted gaming tools to the monitors. One feature, Dynamic Shadow Boost, enhances visibility in darker areas of a scene without overexposing brighter regions. Meanwhile, an AI-driven Dynamic Crosshair adjusts color automatically to remain visible against different backgrounds.

Gamers can manage these settings through ASUS DisplayWidget Center, which enables quick customization of display profiles, brightness, and other settings.

The monitors also support firmware updates, allowing ASUS to introduce performance improvements and additional features over time.
