Last year, Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Watch Active2 and unlike the other wearable devices, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 will soon come with a blood pressure monitoring application as the Samsung Health Monitor app has been cleared by South Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, as a software as a medical device.
With the Blood Pressure Monitoring App, you’ll now be able to monitor your blood pressure with your Galaxy Watch Active2. However, calibrating the wearable device will require to use a traditional cuff so you can match the data on the traditional cuff to your Galaxy Watch Active but after that, you can easily measure your blood pressure by just tapping “Measure” anytime anywhere.
Samsung will be also requiring users to calibrate their device at least every four weeks to ensure the accuracy of the blood pressure monitoring app. The Samsung Health Monitor app will be available on the Galaxy Watch Active2 within the third quarter and will progressively expand to upcoming Galaxy Watch devices.
