Sony Xperia Z and Xperia ZL unveiled: Water resistant, 5-inch Full HD Display and Quad-Core Processor

Sony Xperia Z (L) and Sony Xperia ZL (R)

I love Sony phones because of their IP 57 water resistant and dust proof phones especially on those water resistant phones with a pretty good specs like the Sony Xperia Acro S. And now, Sony has decided to bring this to the successor of the Sony Xperia S. Aside from that, both phone also packs a 5″ Full HD LED Display with Sony Mobile Bravia Engine 2 which is expected to all flagship phones this year. They are also powered by Quad-Core Krait processor which is also used by Nexus 4. And yes, there’s Android Jelly Bean inside but unfortunately it is 4.1 and not 4.2. So what’s the difference between the two aside from the design? Well, the other one is IP57-certified while the other one is not. Want to know who’s who? Check it out after the break

The Sony Xperia ZL is the one that doesn’t have the water resistant. That’s the phone with smaller bezel and with the camera on the lower right. The Xperia ZL is much lighter than the Z too. I guess the L on the ZL means Lite. That’s just my 2 cents. Aside from those mentioned specs a while ago both phones will sport LTE, MicroSD slot, 13 Megapixel Exmor R sensor, NFC and some features that can be found on a smartphone. Both phones are expected to be released this March but there’s no SRP yet.

I like the design of Sony’s newest flagship especially the water resistant feature. It has a fast Quad-core krait processor too. Not all phones has that feature and it will be very feasible to use when you’re taking a shower or when you’re at the beach taking photos and videos (oohhh at the shower). But I didn’t like how Sony execute this one. Why? This is a flagship phone and they just announced two phones with different designs and but almost similar features. This will just raise confusion to some people.
