Leaked renders of the upcoming ASUS Googlebook have surfaced, offering an early look at Google’s new laptop platform. The hardware features a dark grey chassis paired with unique hardware touches tailored specifically for Google services.
Obtained exclusively by The Mac Observer, the eight leaked images reveal from the outer design to the internal thermal engineering.
ASUS Googlebook Design Highlights Glowing Lid and Dedicated G Key
On the outside, the laptop features an ASUS logo centered on the lid alongside a multicolor LED strip positioned just above it. Google refers to this vibrant accent as the glowbar, establishing it as a signature visual identifier across the Googlebook family. Or probably an indicator that AI is running currently on the device.
Opening the clamshell reveals a clean keyboard deck flanked by dual speaker grills and an large rectangular touchpad. The bottom row includes a dedicated Google-branded G key situated immediately beside the Alt key.
Active Cooling System and Practical Peripheral Connectivity
While specific internal silicon details remain undisclosed, schematics reveal a dedicated cooling fan paired with copper heat pipes. This active thermal architecture suggests that the device will utilize a high-performance processor rather than low-power passive silicon.
Peripheral connectivity also looks practical for everyday productivity. Renders confirm a full-sized USB-A port along the right edge alongside additional modern expansion ports.
Deep Gemini AI Integration and Android Phone Continuity Features
The Googlebook platform combines elements of Android and ChromeOS into a cohesive desktop environment built around Gemini AI. Features like Magic Pointer allow users to highlight on-screen text or objects to instantly generate calendar entries or visualize design concepts.
Users running Android 17 or newer can also take advantage of Cast My Apps to stream mobile apps without reinstalling them. Meanwhile, Quick Access synchronizes mobile phone storage directly into the native file manager for seamless workflows.
ASUS Googlebook Availability and Platform Launch Timeline
Google has previously announced that preorders for the Googlebook ecosystem kick off on September 21, 2026. However, official pricing and regional release dates for this specific ASUS configuration have not yet been announced.
