Lenovo has introduced its next generation of Legion and Lenovo LOQ devices in the Philippines, promising enhanced performance and better thermal management to meet the demands of modern gamers. These new devices leverage AI-powered technology and advanced thermal designs to deliver an optimized gaming experience.

Enhanced gaming performance and thermal design

Lenovo’s latest gaming lineup includes the Legion and Lenovo LOQ series, featuring the newly developed Lenovo LA AI Core Chips. These chips provide AI-assisted performance boosts, allowing higher frame rates and smoother gameplay. Additionally, the new thermal design helps manage overheating issues, ensuring seamless performance even during intense gaming sessions.

Lenovo Legion series: Power and precision

These devices also feature 16-inch PureSight displays, up to 64GB of memory, and up to 2TB of Gen4 PCIe storage on select models.

Lenovo has also redefined thermal design with the Legion Coldfront Hyper thermal solution, exclusive to the Legion 7i and Legion 5i models. This system optimizes heat management by transforming airflow within the chassis, channeling hot air through a central hyperbaric chamber, and isolating expelled hot air from the cold air drawn in by dual fans.

Lenovo LOQ series: Entry-level gaming with advanced features

The Lenovo LOQ Gen 9 series, designed for beginner gamers, includes the Lenovo LOQ 15IRX9 and 15IAX9 models. These devices feature up to 13th Gen Intel Core i5 processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 graphics cards. They also come with the Lenovo LA1 AI chip powered by the Lenovo AI Engine+ for dynamic performance tuning.

The LOQ series includes a 15.6-inch display, up to 32GB of memory, and up to 2TB of Gen4 PCIe storage. These features make the LOQ series a solid choice for those new to gaming, providing a balance of performance and affordability.

The TechLife Pad is the brand’s first offering into the tablet market, aiming to provide a budget-friendly option that balances entertainment and productivity. With its affordable price and family-friendly features, here are our initial thoughts on the device.

TechLife Pad: Family-Friendly Features

One of the standout aspects of the TechLife Pad is its suitability for children, thanks to the inclusion of Google Kids Space. This feature allows parents to set up a safe and controlled environment for their kids, providing access to age-appropriate apps, games, and books. Google Kids Space also includes parental controls, ensuring that children can only access content that is safe and educational.

TechLife Pad: Design and Build Quality

Our review unit sports a sleek Graphite Grey finish, weighing 453 grams. The smooth aluminum back panel feels sturdy and premium, offering a comfortable grip despite its slim profile at 7.4mm. However, both the display and back panel are prone to fingerprints and smudges, which could require frequent cleaning.

TechLife Pad: Multimedia

Featuring a 10.36-inch display with a 2K resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate, the TechLife Pad provides a decent viewing experience for its price range. The screen is bright and vibrant enough for indoor use, though it might struggle under direct sunlight. The bezels are relatively thick, but they offer a secure place to hold the tablet without obstructing the screen.

The tablet’s quad-stereo speakers, positioned on the top and bottom, deliver surprisingly robust audio for an entry-level device. The sound quality is clear and loud, making it a good choice for watching videos and playing games.

TechLife Pad: Software

Running on stock Android 14, the tablet offers a clean and intuitive user experience. While the lack of a dedicated video player and photo gallery might require users to download additional apps, the overall interface is smooth and easy to navigate. The Google Kids Space integration further enhances its appeal as a family device.

TechLife Pad: Performance

Powered by the UNISOC T606 chipset, the device offers satisfactory performance for everyday tasks. During our hands-on, the device managed casual gaming and multimedia consumption without significant issues. While not the most powerful tablet on the market, it is reliable for typical use cases such as web browsing and social media.

TechLife Pad: Camera

Equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera, the device’s camera setup is basic but adequate for casual use. The photo quality is sufficient for video calls and quick snapshots, though it won’t replace a dedicated camera for high-quality photography.

TechLife Pad: Battery

The 7,000mAh battery provides impressive longevity, making the tablet a reliable companion for extended use. According to TechLife, the tablet can last up to 15 hours on standby and around 4.4 hours of continuous use. Charging is done via USB Type-C, but the 10W charging speed is relatively slow.

INITIAL THOUGHTS…

ASUS Launches Pre-Orders for Vivobook S 15 with Snapdragon X Elite processor inside!

ASUS Philippines has announced that the pre-order for its new Vivobook S 15 CoPilot+ with Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite X CPU will begin on July 2, 2024. It’s the first ASUS laptop to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processor, the ARM-based processor to compete with the likes of Intel and AMD.

The ASUS Vivobook S 15 is designed for consumers who wants to join the first wave of CoPilot+ PC with a focus on AI. It boasts a 3K 120 Hz OLED display and it comes in all-metal chassis measuring 1.47 cm in thickness and weighing 1.42 kg. realme Philippines, in collaboration with Global HQ, launched the realme GT 6 through a livestream event on June 20. Known as “The Flagship Killer,” the realme GT 6 aims to revolutionize the flagship smartphone market with its powerful performance and efficiency.

Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, the realme GT 6 features a 4nm fabrication process, 5G connectivity, and an impressive 1,500,000 AnTuTu benchmark score with a clock speed of up to 3.0GHz. In addition, it allows users to customize the processor’s core frequencies, optimizing performance for demanding games or conserving power for less intensive tasks.

Meanwhile, the realme GT 6 comes with a 6.78-inch 62° Curved 8T LTPO Panel protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a 360Hz touch sampling rate, with a touch sampling rate of 2,500Hz. PLDT Home has announced the launch of Fiber Fest, it’s the country’s first broadband festival. The event aims to bring exclusive offers and rewards to families across the Philippines.

The inaugural Fiber Fest is scheduled for June 15, 2024, in Barangay Santa Cruz, Antipolo City.
