Asus W90 Review

Asus just released a new laptop (Yeah, Another new laptop) but it is not part of Eee line of notebooks (Thankfully!). This 18.4″ Laptop is equipped with a MONSTER Video card. Which means this laptop’s purpose is for Gaming & Multimedia

This laptop comes with 2 Variants 18.4-inch for W90Vp/W90Vn or 17-inch W90V.This monster weighs 5.2 kg or 11 lbs (Yeah, Very Heavy) equipped with a Core 2 Duo Processor (T9600,T9400,P8600 or P8400) with a Chipset of Intel X38 which handles up to 6 GB of RAM & A dual 500 GB HDD. Intel X38 can support Desktop CPUs. The W90Vp is equipped with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4870 X2 or HD 3850 X2 dual graphics (you can choose)with GDDR3 1024MB VRAM, and the other model variants W90Vn and W90V will be equip by a single NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GS, GDDR3 1024MB VRAM and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3850 graphics, GDDR3 1024MB VRAM, respectively.

You can choose from this laptop whether it will be a Blu-ray combo or DVD SuperMulti DL burner. Other features are a 2-megapixel web camera, WiFi 802.11n, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet LAN,a 56k modem and six built-in Altec Lansing surround sound speakers.

One of the interesting feature of this laptop is the turbo button. The function of that button is to overclock the machine up to 25%.

BTW, graphics card says “HD 4870 x 2” but it is not dual Radeon, but has used two separate CrossFires. Equipped with a 8800mAh and 93Wh expect that the battery life will be very short.
