PC gamers may not have to endure an agonizing multi-year wait to explore Vice City, as the anticipated GTA 6 PC release is reportedly targeted for the first quarter of 2027.
As reported by IGN, Rockstar Games aims to ship the Windows version shortly after its console debut on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

A Much Shorter Wait Compared to Previous Rockstar Titles
With Grand Theft Auto VI scheduled to hit consoles on November 19, 2026, a Q1 2027 rollout would represent an unprecedented turnaround of roughly three to four months.
Historically, Rockstar has kept desktop enthusiasts waiting significantly longer for mainline entries.
Grand Theft Auto V arrived on PC nineteen months after its initial PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 launch in 2013.
Similarly, Red Dead Redemption 2 took over a full year to transition from consoles to PC storefronts back in 2018.
Multiplayer Rollout and Next-Gen GTA Online Synergies
The reported timing for the PC launch appears closely linked to Rockstar’s wider multiplayer roadmap.
Industry speculation suggests the Windows debut could coincide with the rollout of the title’s revamped online component, colloquially known as GTA Online 2.
Given the immense commercial footprint of PC role-playing communities like FiveM, Rockstar has strong financial incentives to engage PC players early.
With PC gaming hardware and AI expanding rapidly worldwide, leaving desktop players behind for an extended period could leave substantial digital revenue on the table.
Expected Hardware Demands and Performance Advantages
While target resolutions and frame rate caps for consoles remain unconfirmed, the PC platform is expected to unlock the game’s full technical potential.
Neither Rockstar Games nor parent publisher Take-Two Interactive has issued an official statement regarding the report, but an early 2027 release window would be welcome news for the community.
