Huawei responds to Android Ban

President Trump has recently signed an executive order that restricts Huawei from using Google services in their future Android devices. Actually, Huawei has suspended many of its business deals with different companies including Broadcom, Intel, Qualcomm and more. But a few hours ago, Huawei has finally responded to the order

“Huawei has made substantial contributions to the development and growth of Android around the world. As one of Android’s key global partners, we have worked closely with their open-source platform to develop an ecosystem that has benefitted both users and the industry.

Huawei will continue to provide security updates and after-sales services to all existing Huawei and Honor smartphone and tablet products, covering those that have been sold and that are still in stock globally.

We will continue to build a safe and sustainable software ecosystem, in order to provide the best experience for all users globally.”

It’s really comforting to know that Huawei will still be providing security updates and after-sales services to Huawei and Honor devices but I hope that we could get to know more about their next steps in the future. I really wish that they would not stay away from Android.
