Apple has officially confirmed that physical retail locations will have limited iPhone Duo walk-in stock available when the device makes its global debut on Friday, October 23, 2026. The announcement addresses widespread speculation regarding whether unreserved walk-in shoppers could purchase the foldable in person.
The company acknowledged that extraordinary demand has placed tight pressure on inventory, advising prospective buyers that available retail units are expected to sell out quickly.
According to Apple, physical retail stores will carry limited supplies for walk-in visitors while teams work aggressively to deliver units to customers as quickly as possible.
Where Walk-Ins Are Permitted Versus Reservation Only
Walk-in inventory will be available in select countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Mexico, the Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Turkey. Select stores across Italy will also carry walk-in units.
Macao will operate under a unique walk-in-only policy on launch day, though inventory remains strictly constrained.
In contrast, several major markets will completely bar unreserved walk-in purchases. Shoppers in mainland China, France, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates must reserve an in-store pickup slot through the online Apple Store.
Apple routinely enforces online reservation mandates in dense retail regions to control massive queue crowds and curb unauthorized scalping.
High Consumer Demand for Apple First Foldable
The device saw online shipping windows slip to January within minutes of pre-orders opening, leading to reports that the iPhone Duo sold out until 2027 in multiple markets.
In the Philippines, local carriers have already opened pre-registration offers, including Smart postpaid plans.
