Huawei will be announcing something ahead of IFA 2019 at Berlin and it’s the Kirin 990 chipset. A short 10-second video was teased by the company and we can expect a lot from this chipset including 5G which will be the trend on smartphones this year.

The Kirin 990 is expected to be manufactured under TSMC’s 7nm EUV process which will definitely increase the power efficiency and transistor density on the chipset.

The Kirin 990 is also expected to have a 4K video recording at 60fps which will be the first in the Kirin chipset series and of course, it will also pack the latest NPU architectured along with new CPU and GPU components.

The Kirin 990 chipset is expected to be use by their upcoming flagship smartphone — the Huawei Mate 30 and also the Huawei Mate X, their foldable smartphone.
