Telstra and San Miguel have been talking for the past few months to bring a new player in the telco industry but this ends today as Telstra has abandoned their plans to enter the Philippine market due to the commercial arrangements on a possible equity investment in the venture.

Telstra is previously looking into investing $1 billion in the proposed wireless joint with San Miguel in the country. Despite abandoning plans to enter the Philippine market, Telstra has offered support for San Miguel in technical network design.
