HUAWEI Mate 70 and 70 Pro Unveiled!

HUAWEI has just unveiled their latest and strongest flagship smartphones, the HUAWEI Mate 70 and Mate 70 Pro. This smartphone series comes in two models — Mate 70 and the Mate 70 Pro with the latter having a 6.9” display while the other one comes with a 6.7” display.

While the processors aren’t highlighted, it’s speculated that its processor was manufactured under 6nm. To give you an idea, the new chips on the iPhone 16 Pro are manufactured under 3nm, which are more efficient and better. Nonetheless, our experience with HUAWEI smartphones with recent Kirin chips are still excellent.

The HUAWEI Mate 70 comes with a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120Hz while the Mate 80 Pro comes with 6.9” display with a Full HD+ resolution and the same refresh rate. It’s weird though that they opted for a Full HD+ resolution on these smartphones but they do got a bright 2500 nits brightness on these smartphones.

As for the camera, the HUAWEI Mate 70 Series comes with a 50MP main camera with OIS along with 40MP Ultrawide lens. But the Mate 70 gets only a 12MP pericope lens that comes with 5.5x optical zoom while the Pro version gets a 48MP sensor with 4x optical zoom. Both smartphones will get a 13MP selfie camera. The HUAWEI Mate 70 Series will still use the XMAGE branding and I do expect that these smartphones will still have an amazing camera inside.

The HUAWEI Mate 70 has a 5300mAh battery with 66W Wired Charigng and 50W Wireless Charging while the Mate 70 Pro has a 5500mAh battery with 100W Wired charging and 80W Wireless charging.

Both smartphones will run on HarmonyOS 4.3 with an update for HarmonyOS Next in the future.

The HUAWEI Mate 70 starts at CNY 5499 while the Mate 70 Pro starts at CNY 6499.

Looks like we’re getting the first look of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra with a new short hands-on video that just surfaced on Reddit.

This short video is just a 10-second clip posted on Reddit but one of the known Samsung leakster, Ice Universe has confirmed that it is the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. In the video, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra looks like it will have a more rounded corners and also a flat design with the same camera layout.

The foldable market gets more exciting in the Philippines as Infinix has just announced that the Infinix Zero Flip is now available for under Php30,000 in the Philippines. It comes with a 4K camera for video recording and it also features a large 3.64″ cover display with 120Hz refresh rate.

Other than that, the Infinix Zero Flip also comes with a Zero Gap Hinge along with the 6.9-inch display inside. Again, the smartphone comes with a 50MP camera with 4K video recording capabilities on the front and the back which makes it perfect for content creators while for charging, it comes with 70W Super Charge with 4720mAh battery inside.

As for the processing power, there’s the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset with 16GB of RAM and also a 512GB of internal storage inside.

OPPO Find X8 launches in the Philippines

OPPO has officially introduced the Find X8 (12GB + 256GB) to the Philippine market. Priced at Php54,999, the device will be available for pre-order starting November 21, 2024, with exclusive perks for early buyers.

The phone has a 6.59-inch AMOLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the Find X8 is powered by MediaTek’s 3nm Dimensity 9400 chipset, 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

In addition, the device also sports a Hasselblad-tuned camera system with a 50MP Sony LYT-700 main camera, an ultra-wide 50MP lens, and a 50MP telephoto camera capable of up to 120x digital zoom. The iconic Hasselblad portrait feature enhances photo quality, making it ideal for content creators and casual users alike. Meanwhile, on the front, a 32MP Sony IMX615 sensor handles selfies with ease.

Other notable features include its 5630mAh battery with 80W SUPERVOOC wired charging and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging, IP68/69 dust and water resistance, and stereo speakers featuring Dolby Atmos.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

Customers who also pre-order the OPPO Find X8 from November 21 to November 30, 2024, will receive a bundle that includes the OPPO Enco Air3s and a Black Tape Bluetooth Model for record players. Meanwhile, the first sale begins on December 1, 2024, at select OPPO authorized offline stores nationwide, including concept stores, kiosks, and multi-brand retailers.

Meanwhile, for those opting to buy online, the OPPO Find X8 will be available on Lazada starting November 22 at 12 AM, and on Shopee and TikTok starting November 29 at 12 AM.

Final Fantasy XIV Mobile is coming to smartphones

Have you heard of the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV? Well, it’s coming to mobile soon thanks to the partnership of Square Enix with LIGHTSPEED Studios, the developers of PUBG Mobile.

FFXIV Mobile is officially licensed and developed by Lightspeed studios and it will be under the supervision of FFXIV Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida.

The mobile game version will still be set at Eorzea and it will come with the elements of the main game. The game will come with a variety of playable races and also nine jobs at launch with the armoury system and some of the things that we love in the series including fishing, triple triad card game, and Chocobo Racing.

There are only a limited details regarding Final Fantasy XIV Mobile but we hope that it won’t be a gacha game. Too bad it isn’t gonna be the same game on console and PC but it’s still nice to see a popular MMORPG IP coming to mobile devices.

HONOR Magic V3 launches in the Philippines

HONOR has officially launched the Magic V3 in the Philippines, the slimmest foldable smartphone on the market.

The HONOR Magic V3 stands out with its ultra-thin design. When folded, it measures 9.2mm in the Black faux leather version and 9.3mm in other variants. When unfolded, it is only 4.35mm thin for the Black version and 4.4mm for other colors.

Its durability is enhanced by a hinge designed to handle up to 500,000 folds and a 7-series aluminum alloy frame.

Meanwhile, the Magic V3 features a 7.92-inch main OLED display with FHD+ resolution, a variable refresh rate of 1–120Hz, and 4320Hz PWM dimming. The external cover display is a 6.43-inch FHD+ OLED with similar refresh rate and dimming capabilities. Both screens are protected by Rhino glass and offer multitouch functionality.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. It runs on Android 14 with the MagicOS 8.0.1 interface.

For photography, the Magic V3 has a triple rear camera system: 50MP main camera with OIS, 40MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP telephoto lens with OIS. It also has a 20MP front-facing camera is available for selfies.

The phone is equipped with a 5,150mAh battery, supported by 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

The HONOR Magic V3 is priced at Php89,999 and is available at HONOR Experience stores across the country. Each purchase includes a free HONOR Pad X9 worth Php9,999.
