Smart leads Philippines in 5G coverage and availability — Opensignal

Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) has been recognized by independent analytics firm Opensignal for delivering the best 5G Coverage and 5G Availability in the Philippines.

According to Opensignal’s latest Mobile Network Experience Report, covering July to September 2023, Smart excelled in five key categories: 5G Availability, 5G Coverage, 5G Download Speed, 5G Upload Speed, and Overall Download Speed.

Sam Fenwick, Opensignal Principal Analyst, also noted, “Smart remains unbeaten on 5G Availability,” underscoring Smart’s consistent performance in this aspect since Opensignal’s initial report on the Filipino 5G landscape in October 2021.

OPPO to Launch Reno11 F 5G in the Philippines soon

OPPO has announced that it will soon launch the Reno11 F 5G in the Philippines, the latest addition to its Reno11 series.

The OPPO Reno11 F 5G will feature a 64MP triple rear camera setup for photography, 67W SUPERVOOC fast charging that can charge the phone fully in 48 minutes, and OPPO’s new Magnetic Particle Design with visually appealing textures.

The phone will be available in three colors – Coral Purple, Ocean Blue, and Palm Green. Additional details including pricing and exact availability are yet to be revealed by OPPO.

realme 12 Pro+ First Impressions

The most beautiful midrange smartphone in the market right now, the realme 12 Pro+, is set to arrive in the country soon and we’ve been using the smartphone for a few days now. The realme 12 Pro+ offers a lot of features including a 3x Pericope Portrait lens, a more premium design, and a more powerful processor inside.

Flagship design, mid-range price

One of the highlight of the smartphone is its design. Just like the previous generation, the realme 12 Pro+ half slice pattern that runs across the back of the smartphone and then there’s the Premium Vegan Leather, which feels more premium than the previous generation.

But unlike the realme 11 Pro+, the 12 Pro+ now features a more detailed design that makes it look like it’s a premium watchpiece. There’s the Golden Fluted Bezel at the protruding camera module of the smartphone and it does have a Polished Sunburst Dial at the camera which highlights the beautiful camera of the smartphone. These design decisions that was made on the smartphone makes it a more premium looking smartphone. Actually, it does feel like a flagship smartphone.

While for the display, the smartphone features a 6.7″ Full HD+ Curved OLED Display with 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 950 nits which isn’t that bad especially for a midrange smartphone.

In the Philippines, we’re getting the Submarine Blue and Navigator Beige color and in my opinion, both smartphones look really fine.

Powerful camera

Aside from its beautiful and premium design, the realme 12 Pro+ 5G features a 64MP Periscope lens along with a 50MP Sony IMX890 camera sensor and also an 8MP wide-angle lens. The white paper alone already tells us that the smartphone does have a powerful rear cameras and with its Periscope lens, we can go up to 120X zoom on the smartphone. A really good touch for a mid-range smartphone.

Massive storage, powerful processor

It’s not only the design and also the camera that we love on the smartphone. The realme 12 Pro+ 5G also offers the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor along with 512GB of storage and also a 12GB of RAM. The smartphone does offer a promising performance for both image processing and also for heavier tasks.

As for the battery, it comes with a 5000mAh battery which is pretty standard and it also comes with 67W SUPERVOOC Charging which is fast enough to charge the smartphone in less than an hour.

Verdict

The realme 12 Pro + offers a lot to the table. It has a powerful camera, the design is stunning and there’s a decent processor inside as well for gaming and apps. The realme 12 Pro+ is expected to come out soon so be sure to stay tuned and be sure to catch their livestream this March 7 at 6PM.

Xiaomi 14 Launches in the Philippines

Xiaomi Philippines has launched their newest flagship smartphone in the country, the Xiaomi 14. The smartphone packs the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor inside along with the powerful Leica optics inside.

Despite the lack of the “Pro” monicker, the Xiaomi 14 packs a powerful Leica cakmera inside with the Light Fusion 900 sensor along with a telephoto camera and also a 14mm Leica Ultra-wide camera.

Aside from its magical camera, the Xiaomi 14 also features a 6.36” AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and also a 2670 x 1200 resolution. The frame of the smartphone is made up of stainless steel and then there’s the 3D Curved Glass Back as well.

For the processor, there’s the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the latest one from Qualcomm and it also comes with 12GB of RAM and a choice between 256GB and 512GB internal storage.

While for the battery, the smartphone comes with 4610mAh battery with support for 90W HyperCharge.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile to drop you in Verdansk this March 21

Activision has officially unveiled the release date for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. Players worldwide can mark their calendars for May 21, 2024, when the free-to-play title launches on both Android and iOS devices.

Warzone Mobile promises to bring the battle royale experience enjoyed by millions on console and PC to the mobile platform. The Verdansk map will be there and also the Rebirth Island at launch. Other multiplayer maps will be there as well including Shipment and Shoot House.

The best part about this mobile game is that it will have a shared progression with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Warzone. It means that the Player Level, weapon level, battle pass, progression, bundles and your friend list will be accessible in the mobile game. However, there won’t be cross-play between Warzone on PC and console to your mobile.

The game will also have different modes:

Battle Royale: Fight for survival in Verdansk, a familiar map supporting 120 players, or Rebirth Island, a smaller map with faster-paced 48-player action and Resurgence rules. Both feature the Gulag, offering a chance to redeploy after elimination in Verdansk.

Multiplayer: Train and test your skills in classic Call of Duty modes like Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Search & Destroy on various maps, including Shipment, Shoot House, and Scrapyard.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will arrive on the Play Store and App store this March 21 but you can now start pre-registering for the game.

Nightingale Survival Game Now in Early Access

Indie developer Inflexion Games has launched its fantasy survival game Nightingale into early access on PC. It is now available for purchase on Steam and the Epic Games Store for PHP 910.

Set in a magical realm called the Faewilds, Nightingale is described as a shared world PVE survival-crafting experience. Players traverse portals to explore different realms either solo or in co-op groups of up to 5 friends. Gameplay involves crafting cards to travel between realms, building customized estates, and fighting to survive against enemies.

The launch early access version contains core features and content that Inflexion Games plans to expand over time based on player community feedback. Post-launch updates will bring additional realms, environments, crafting recipes, base building options, playable characters and more.

In a statement, Inflexion Games’ CEO Aaryn Flynn said the studio aims to foster an engaging community and deliver new content via continuous live service updates. The developer was formed in 2018 and is comprised of over 100 team members with backgrounds working on franchises like Mass Effect, Dragon Age and Far Cry.

Nightingale is now accessible on Steam and the Epic Games Store for PHP 910. The game is also available via GeForce Now cloud streaming service.
