Smart recently introduced their newest data bundles for those people who loves to watch and make videos. If you’re a Smart subscriber, you’ll now be able to enjoy video data plans in where you can now watch Youtube, Dailymotion, Vimeo, Viewsteam, Skype Qik and Dubsmash on your smartphone for as low as 5 pesos.

 

Yeah, with that 5 pesos, you could now have 65MB of data for which is 15 minutes of standard definition video streaming on mobile phones valid for one day. This is a good opportunity of pocket video entertainment especially on lunch breaks or while commuting.

Intel launches their 5th-generation processors in the Philippines

Intel has launched the 5th Generation Intel Core processors along with the new Intel Atom processors and the Core M processors last week. Intel also showcased some devices that are equipped with the latest 5th generation Intel Core processors. Some of the interesting devices that I saw in the event are the ASUS Transformer Book Chi, Dell XPS 13, HP Stream 13 and of course, those Intel Atom powered devices by local brands.

So what are the advantages of having the latest generation of Intel Core processors? With the 5th generation Intel Core processors you could have a thinner design and better performance and of course, the tablet aren’t forgotten with the Core M processors. This processor is specifically made for ultra-thin devices like tablets and despite having a thin design and body, Intel Core M Processor is more powerful than Intel Atom processors but it is still more efficient than Intel Core I processors. Some of the notable devices that are using the Core M processors are the new Macbooks, ASUS Transformer Book Chi, and many more.

 

Intel also introduced the Intel Next Level of Computing (NUC) and the Intel Compute sticks. The Intel NUC features a customizable CPU on a small form factor and yes, it’s available in Intel Celeron up to Intel Core i7. While the Intel Compute Stick is an Intel Atom powered device is only at a size of a HDMI Dongle. You can plug the Intel Compute Stick anywhere and you could immediately make your monitor or TV into a Windows device as long as you have a wireless keyboard and mouse. Yeah, it’s like having a full PC inside your pocket. Amazing, right?

ASUS Zenfone 2 is one of the hottest phone in the country right now and it is expected to be launch, this Saturday at World Trade Center. This smartphone comes in many variants but the best variant of the smartphone is the ASUS Zenfone 2 ZE551ML that comes with a Full HD display, 2.3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Atom processor, a brushed metal back, and a 4GB RAM. This is the first smartphone to have that amount of RAM and yes, the ASUS Zenfone 2 barely lags when multi-tasking because of the 4GB of RAM. Samsung Curved Monitors Launched in the Philippines

Samsung recently launched their newest curve monitors here in the Philippines and damn, they’re awesome. So why are curved monitors like the Samsung SE790C and LS27590CS awesome? Because curved monitors provides better experience than flat screen displays. These curved monitors are also great for gaming and productivity because it works really well for office and games especially when you want to use more than 1 curve monitors. Not only that, curved monitors also offer superior eye comfort.

The Samsung SE790C features a 21:9 Ultra WQHD display and yes it was really awesome. Curve monitors are really ideal for gaming especially for shooter games and racing games like Grid. And thankfully, I was able to try playing that on a Samsung Curved Monitor and yes, the game and experience was awesome. Since I’m using a first person view on Grid, I have more panoramic view on the game thanks to the 21:9 aspect ratio of the monitor.

Macbook (2015) now available in the Philippines

I visited an Apple Reseseller yesterday and I’m glad to share to you guys that the new Macbook is now available in the Philippines. Yes, that Macbook that comes in silver, space grey, and gold which are the similar available hues for the iPhone and iPad. The new Macbook is thinner than the Macbook Air which makes the Macbook the thinnest Mac ever. But of course, having a thin design like this comes with a compromise. The new Macbook only packs a single port which is a Type-C USB that you can use to charge your Macbook but don’t worry, there’s an accessory that you can buy from that’ll give you HDMI, USB, and a Type-C USB port for PhP3,990. I know, it’s very expensive.

Some other cool new features on the new Macbook are thin keys that still clicks like a normal keyboard and the force trackpad on the touchpad. A gripe that I have on the new Macbook is the Core M Processor inside it. The Core M Processor is made for devices that are thin and light like tablets and ultra-thin notebooks but that comes with a catch because the Intel Core M processor might be more powerful than the Intel Atom processors but it isn’t powerful as the Intel Core processors on the Macbook Pro and Macbook Air.

I’d recommend the Macbook for those people who are just into browsing & light office work but if you want to use the laptop for heavy tasks, then you might have a problem with that. The new Macbooks are now available in Silver, Gold, and Space Grey at these following prices.

Wazzup Everybody? NicDroid here. How are you guys? If you’re still into Windows Phone Devices this year, then let me be the first one to say that you’re in the right article. Today, we’ll be looking into Microsoft mobile’s newest phablet built for productivity and a smartphone that can help you achieve more, the Lumia 640XL.

Microsoft Lumia 640XL packs a 5.7″ IPS display which has impressive colors at different angles. The display isn’t washed out (well, it’s an IPS after all.) It has a Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 Quad-Core clocked at 1.2GHz, it has a 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage expandable up to 128GB with MicroSD, WiFi, Bluetooth, Dual Sim (One of the slot supports 3G), 13MP Carl Zeiss Rear Camera and Wide 5MP Front camera, and it’s running on Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim (The Lumia 640XL is Windows 10 ready too) And oh, It has a free 1 year subscription of Office 365.

The Lumia 640XL has a solid matte cover at the back and the Lumia 640XL is uncomfortable for me when using it in one hand but If a large screen doesn’t bother you, it won’t be a biggie. It’s got Office 365 Subscription. Trust me, it will help you be productive when you’re relying on the cloud. Another feature is the Office Lens, you can turn your Phone into a scanner to save someone’s paperwork or business cards and it will be saved on OneDrive or Outlook which is a very cool feature.

Microsoft Lumia 640XL is Available now throughout Metro Manila (since 1st of May) for Php11,900, but the LTE version will be available throughout June through some Carriers.

Brother recently unveiled their newest printers with revolutionary Refill Tank System during the presscon for the Brother Color Manila Nite Run: Blacklight edition. The two 3-in-1 MFC printers: DCP-T500W and DCP-T300 are great Multi-function centres whether you want to use it for your personal needs or for your small businesses. Why? Because this printers offers low-cost ink bottles with 6000 page-yield for black ink and 5000 page-yield for color ink.

 

Brother Philippines President Glenn P. Hocson said, “We have chosen a perfect venue to publicly launch our exciting new product. The colorful event will not only highlight Brother’s Refill Tank System’s CMYK refillable ink bottles, but also our competitively priced 6000 page-yield that meets high print volume users’ need for lower ‘running’ costs. These printers has built-in tanks that has see-through cover at the front so you could easily check how much ink is left and you don’t have to worry about the calibration because the Brother Refill Tank System will only take you seven minutes for calibrating. Speaking of time, the Brother Refill Tank System can print as fast as 11 monochrome and 6 colored images per minute.

 

The Brother DCP T-300 and DCP-T500W is pegged at P8,450 and P9,450 respectively.

Asus Zenfone 2 will launch in the Philippines on May 16

Asus Zenfone 2 will launch in the Philippines on May 16

We just got a confirmation from Asus Philippines in their Facebook Page that the anticipated Asus Zenfone 2 will launch in the Phillipines on May 16. There are two confirmed variants that will arrive in the Philippines, the ZE500CL which is the most affordable Zenfone 2 variant and the ZE551ML that comes with either a 2GB/4GB RAM and a Full HD display. The Asus Zenfone 2 is the world’s first smartphone to have a 4GB of RAM and yes, I’m currently reviewing it and I’m pretty happy with how the smartphone will perform.

 

If you have seen Asus Zenfone 2 in malls and online stores. Unfortunately, those smartphones doesn’t come with Asus warranty. That’s why I strongly recommend for you guys to wait for the official PH Launch. Unfortunately, the prices of the Asus Zenfone 2 variants haven’t been announced yet.
