The OPPO Reno 10 series comes three variants and in the middle is the OPPO Reno 10 Pro. Unlike the OPPO Reno 10 Pro+, this one comes in a thinner profile but of course, it has a different processing power and different camera system. But is it still good like the bigger brother? Slim and sexy design
The combination of the design of the camera module and also the curves of the smartphone helps add to the sexiness of the OPPO Reno 10 Pro. It’s way thinner than the OPPO 10 Pro+ 5G that we’ve reviewed before and make no mistake because this smartphone is still decent and still has a powerful camera.
At the back, there’s the glass back and surprisingly. It doesn’t attract too much fingerprints. There’s the oval camera module that looks pretty neat and different from most smartphones. While for the frame of the smartphone, it has a pretty solid feel as well.
As for the ergonomics of the smartphone, as expected, this one is more handy and lighter. This one actually has an excellent feel and grip even without the case on the smartphone and speaking of the design, there’s not much fingerprints despite not using the case on the smartphone. The best thing about it is how light the smartphone is.
For the ports, the Reno10 Pro 5G comes with a volume rocker on the side and below it is the power button. Below the smartphone is where you can fund the USB-C port that supports 80W SuperVOOC S charging.
Display
For the display of the smartphone, there’s the 6.7-inch OLED 3D Curved Full HD+ Display with a 120Hz refresh rate. As expected, it looks sleek and perfect especially for its ergonomic and premium design of the OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G.
It’s bright enough outside and it’s very usable despite direct sunlight and the display is responsive as well, especially for games. Unlike most smartphones, this one uses AGC Dragontrail Star 2 glass. In our usage we didn’t had any problems with the glass of the smartphone and we feel that this one is durable.
Battery
As for the battery of the smartphone, the OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G comes with 4600mAh battery and also 80W of SuperVOOC S Charging. It’s fast enough to fully charge the smartphone in just around 30 minutes and as for the battery life, we’re getting here a long battery life of 15 hours and 44 minutes in PC Mark Work 3.0 Battery test
Software and performance
For the software, the OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G comes with ColorOS 13.1 that is based on Android 13. It’s clean, fast, responsive and easy to understand but it does come with some bloatwares with it. Thankfully, you can uninstall most of it.
As for the performance, this one comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset inside. It’s a far cry from the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 on the Reno10 Pro+ 5G but this doesn’t mean that the Reno10 Pro 5G’s chipset is bad.
Actually, it’s fast and responsive on most applications and I didn’t had any single problem when running any apps on the smartphone. As for gaming, this is where you can feel the difference from the Snapdragon 8 series processors.
Most of the games can be set at low to medium settings for demanding games like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail to have an enjoyable FPS while lighter games like Call of Duty Mobile and also Mobile Legends wouldn’t have any problem with it.
While for the benchmarks, it’s basically what we can expect from the smartphone:
Camera
Aside from the design of the smartphone, the best part about the OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G is its camera. Basically, it comes with a 50MP main camera along with a 32MP telephoto portrait camera and also an 8MP ultrawide sensor. While for the selfie camera is the 32MP camera.
There are two things that you should take note from the smartphone – there’s the IMX890 sensor on the main camera that brings a flagship-level performance for the camera. And then there’s the telephoto portrait camera with IMX709 sensor.
The IMX890 can capture more light and it is ahead than most smartphones in its price range. This is why we’re getting clear, bright, sharp, and vivid photos on the OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G. While the telephoto portrait camera gives us a zoomed or 2x portrait shots for better focal length and better quality.
The portrait shots on the OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G are noticeably better and it still has most of the details.
While for video recording, the smartphone can record at 4K@30fps and it’s pretty good as well. The OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G does have an advantage when it comes to the camera and it can even compete on other smartphones at a higher price range.
Verdict
The OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G focuses on these things – sleek design, fast charging, and an excellent camera. It might not have the best processor out there but it’s decent enough for most apps as long as you don’t look for higher graphics settings on games.
The OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G might be a little bit expensive compared to other smartphones in its range but there’s definitely an advantage to its design and its camera.
