When it comes to design, the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 does have an interesting and sexy design but it’s a little bit massive for my taste but hey, this also means that the smartphone is immersive when using it for games and also watching multimedia files.

Yes, the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 is big but the curves on the back of the sides of the smartphone help in ergonomics and of course, having a better grip on the smartphone. At the back of the smartphone is where you can see the glass-like look of the smartphone which looks good on the eyes but you can feel that it’s plastic when you hold the smartphone.

When it comes to aesthetics, the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 got it all for you. There’s a fine texture look behind the smartphone and it adds beauty to it. Below the smartphone is a USB-C port and also a headphone jack along with the speaker grill while at the top, there’s the card tray along with the pop-up camera.

On the front is where you can find the 6.59-inch Ultra FullView Display and at the back, is where you can find the fingerprint scanner which is pretty fast, however, there’s no face unlock on this smartphone.

The smartphone packs a 6.59-inch Full HD+ Ultra FullView display and yes, there’s no notch on the smartphone that’s why the experience on this is very immersive as we got a large display on this smartphone. The colors are nice and the brightness of the smartphone was really good.

One of the main things about the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 that you would like is that the smartphone got a large 4000mAh battery. In my PC Mark battery test, I was able to get a work 2.0 battery life of 11 hours and 36 minutes which is pretty good.

The smartphone runs on EMUI 9.0 on top of the Android 9 and so far, I’m liking the speed of it just like the other Huawei smartphones. Of course, the smartphone still comes with some bloatware inside but don’t worry as most of them are useful.

When it comes to performance, the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 still uses the Kirin 710F processor which is a processor that is being used by Huawei smartphones for a while now but for its price, I wouldn’t complain about it as the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019. However, if you’re planning to play some games on the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 then you might have a problem with that since the smartphone’s processor isn’t really new. The Kirin 710F will be powerful enough to play some popular games like PUBG Mobile at HD settings with high framerates with no anti-aliasing without problems and also NBA 2k19 but if you’re planning on playing games heavier than that then you might have a problem with that.

Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 Review: Camera

The smartphone packs a triple-lens camera and it is comprised of a 16-megapixel main camera, 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. Thankfully, they added a wide-angle lens which are getting traction in almost all smartphones these days.

Using the camera of the smartphone for basic use at decent lighting conditions would be fine while the wide-angle lens will be just fine at decent lighting however at low-light, the noise and the dip in the details are noticeable.

There’s a pop-up selfie camera on the smartphone too and it’s one of the most affordable smartphones with a pop-up camera and unfortunately, the pop-up is a little bit slow and the selfie camera is almost the same as the Huawei Y9 2019, which will do fine at decent lighting conditions. The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 is for the people who want to have an immersive experience on their smartphone. The fullscreen display with no notch brings a more exciting and immersive experience when watching movies on Netflix and YouTube and even when playing games.

The smartphone is just a fine performer but not the best one but if you want to have a full-screen display and also a pop-up camera on a smartphone that is stylish enough then you might want to consider the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019.
