OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G Review

OPPO’s best smartphone under the Reno10 Pro series is the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G. We’ve been using it as our main smartphone for a while and we did enjoy a lot of its features. Today, we’re gonna review this device.

Design and hardware

The OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G is the best looking smartphone that we’ve seen in the Reno Series. It features a premium build and materials along with an oval camera module that looks sleek and still premium and it steers away from most camera module design from other brands.

The curves on the front and back of the smartphone is just perfect as I can hold it perfectly but like any other smartphones out there, I still prefer and suggest that you use the included case on the smartphone.

Below the smartphone is where we can find the USB-C port and it does support fast charging on the smartphone of up to 100W which is why I’m not worried about forgetting charging the smartphone before I go to bed because charging the smartphone in just a few minutes, I can already get almost a whole day of usage on the smartphone.

On the right, the power button and also the volume rocker are perfectly place on the side. As for the speakers, the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G comes with a decent dual speakers so using this one for listening to music and watching media files, was fun.

Display

OPPO Reno Pro+ G Review

The display of the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G is one of the best features of the smartphone. It comes with a 6.7-inch AMOLED 3D Curved Screen with a 1.5K resolution. It’s crisp, clear and vivid. The smartphone’s display is very usable outside as this one is also bright as it goes up to 1400 nits.

It also comes with a 120Hz refresh rate along with 240Hz touch sampling rate which is why the display is very responsive when it comes to playing games such as Genshin Impact and also my favorite, Honkai: Star Rail.

The curved display does add the beauty of the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G and it also helps in lessening the bezel on the side of the smartphone but it’s not the most ideal for gaming. Nonetheless, it’s still a good one and since this smartphone is a style-first, gaming-second, it’s not really a problem for me that the smartphone has this kind of display. It’s still great and it looks excellent for its design.

Battery life

cuva

When you look at the numbers, you might not be impressed with the 4700mAh battery of the smartphone but actually, the battery of the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G is actually pretty fine for average use. While our PC Mark Work 3.0 battery test keeps on getting errors, we did experience a day of battery life with the smartphone at most.

If you’re a heavy gamer then I would suggest that you bring the SUPERVOOC charger with you all the time. And honestly, sometimes I just forget about the battery of the smartphone because charging the smartphone is pretty damn fast. Charging it for just 15 minutes will already give me more than half of the battery and less than 45 minutes will already give me a full charge on the smartphone. It’s pretty damn fast.

Software and performance

For the software, the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G runs on ColorOS 13.1 based on Android 13. As expected, the experience was fast, smooth, and swift however, it still comes with some bloatwares. Not much of an issue as this one comes with a pretty smooth and uninterrupted experience thanks to its power inside. Overall, its UI was easy on the eyes, has a good experience, and pretty to navigate.

As for the performance, the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G comes with a flagship-level performance thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 inside. It’s last year’s flagship processor and for this year, it’s still a power-packed chipset as it can run most of the games and apps that we need to run on the smartphone.

As for benchmarks, the smartphone was able to perform really well and the thermals were great despite being a smartphone being focused on style and not too much on power.

With this smartphone, playing Genshin Impact at high settings at 60fps isn’t really a problem along with Honkai: Star Rail at the highest settings. Some other games such as Farlight 84 perform fine on the smartphone thanks to its processor. One of the main reasons why games and apps are performing really well on the smartphone is because of the  processor that is already matured and has been on the market for a while so developers has been already using the processor for a while.

Camera

cuva

The best feature about the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G is the camera. Despite not being in the Find series, the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G packs a powerful flagship-level camera. There’s the 50MP main camera with IMX890 sensor and also OIS and then there’s the telephoto portrait camera with OV64B sensor and lastly, there’s the 8MP IMX355 sensor for the ultra-wide-angle lens.

As expected, we’re getting here a flagship-level of quality in our shots with the smartphone, again, the processing of the CPU and the NPU of the smartphone really helped in producing better photos on the smartphone. You can clearly see it whenever you’re shooting on the smartphone and it takes a few seconds before it is fully processed. Most of the shots using the rear camera were pretty good and even at lowlight.

Selfie Camera

As for the teleportrait camera, the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G can shoot at 3x with portrait mode and again, the combination of the hardware and the software helps in having better portrait photos. It’s not perfect but the focal length of the teleportrait camera gives us a focal length similar to most portrait lenses on a 50mm-70mm lenses

Zooming

But of course, it’s still not a perfect portrait lens

Portrait mode

It’s not the best camera out there but for a Reno smartphone, the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G is a lot better and again, it’s definitely on a flagship level.

Verdict

cuva

The OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G proves that the smartphone is not just about style. The hardware and software of the smartphone proves that it’s really a portrait expert. The OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G got style, power, and also the camera. it’s all the thing that you just need.

cuva

The OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G isn’t perfect either as we got here a last generation behind flagship processor, and a not perfect bokeh camera. But nonetheless, we’re still getting here an almost flagship experience.

OPPO Reno Pro+ G Review

The competition is a little bit tight and as for the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G, the smartphone is priced at Php 39,999.
