Apple has officially introduced the all-new iPad mini with an OLED display, delivering its most substantial redesign to date with premium display technology and enhanced durability.
The refreshed tablet introduces an 8.5-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screen, the flagship A20 Pro chip, and official IP67 water and dust resistance.
Thinner 5.4mm chassis with IP67 water resistance and fresh colorways
At just 5.4 millimeters thin, the new tablet is slimmer and lighter than its predecessor which makes single-handed operation effortless
It also achieves an official IP67 water and dust resistance rating, making it secure against spills, outdoor rain, or poolside reading sessions.
The compact aluminum chassis is offered in two sleek color options, introducing a deep midnight finish alongside an elegant starlight variant.
Larger 8.5-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with nano-texture option
The display grows to 8.5 inches while keeping the same physical dimensions as the previous generation, achieved through 24 percent thinner bezels.
The Super Retina XDR OLED panel delivers deep pixel-level blacks, a 2,000,000 to 1 contrast ratio, and a peak brightness reaching up to 1200 nits.
For outdoor productivity, Apple is also introducing an optional nano-texture glass finish that drastically cuts reflections in challenging ambient light.
Flagship A20 Pro silicon supercharges on-device Apple Intelligence
Under the hood, the tablet is powered by the high-performance A20 Pro chip featuring integrated Neural Accelerators within each GPU core.
The processor delivers a 30 percent boost in CPU tasks alongside a 50 percent leap in graphics performance for demanding 3D games and animation tools.
Working alongside a Dual 16-core Neural Engine, the A20 Pro powers next-generation Apple Intelligence features and conversational Siri AI throughout iPadOS 27.
Landscape Center Stage front camera and Acoustic Display audio
Video calling receives a welcome upgrade with a 12MP Center Stage camera repositioned along the landscape edge for more natural face-to-face orientation.
The tablet also incorporates Acoustic Display technology, projecting stereo audio directly forward from the panel for rich media immersion.
On the rear, an updated 12MP camera with Smart HDR 5 and True Tone flash provides sharp document scanning and 4K recording.
Apple Pencil Pro support, faster Wi-Fi 7, and Smart Folio accessories
Creative workflows gain a major boost with full support for Apple Pencil Pro, enabling squeeze gestures, barrel roll rotation, and haptic feedback.
Connectivity is brought up to speed with Wi-Fi 7 support, upgraded 5G cellular with eSIM, and a faster 10Gbps USB-C port with fast charging.
Apple has also developed a new two-panel TechWoven Smart Folio in navy blue and taupe that magnetically attaches for adjustable viewing angles.
