MediaTek has just unveiled their latest chipset, the Mediatek Dimensity 1080 for their upcoming devices. It’s their direct successor to the already powerful Dimensity 920 and it comes with a lot of interesting features.

The Dimensity 1080 comes with an upgraded octa-core CPU with two Arm Cortex-A78 CPU cores operating at up to 2.6GHz, combined with an Arm Mali-G68 GPU. It is also manufactured under 6nm which provides a power-saving benefits and also a more powerful performance.

There’s support for the 200MP main camera as well as the MediaTek’s Imagiq ISP that gives the latest camera features for better quality on photos and videos and also a hardware-accelerated HDR video recording engine to process up to 4K resolution.

Gamers can also take advantage of the chip’s HyperEngine 3.0 gaming enhancements for a faster performance and also a better connectivity along with the AI processing unit 3.0 of the Dimensity 1080. The Dimensity 1080 also supports sub-6GHz 5G networks and also WiFi 6 connectivity.

The Dimensity 1080 is expected to become available in the market by Q4 2022.
