MediaTek has officially launched the Dimensity 8400 featuring the company’s All Big Core design. The new chip from MediaTek is bringing in an eight-core Arm Cortex-A725 CPU, clocked at up to 3.25GHz.
This new chip brings a 41% boost in multi-core performance compared to its predecessor, the Dimensity 8300. Despite the all big core design, the Dimensity 8400 doesn’t sacrifice the battery life thanks to a 44% reduction in peak power consumption.
Inside the Dimensity 8400’s Arm Mali-G720 GPU, it offers better peak performance and 42% improved power efficiency. It also features MediaTek’s NPU 880, bringing a more powerful generative AI to your device.
The first smartphones powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 are expected to hit the market by the end of 2024.
