Ookla: Smart is the fastest network for Samsung, Apple devices

Samsung and Apple devices share one common factor: they perform at their fastest when using Smart’s network.

According to Ookla’s analysis of Speedtest Intelligence data for Q2 2021, Samsung and Apple devices are fastest on Smart’s 5G mobile network in the Philippines. In addition, the global leader in internet testing and analytics also found out that Samsung and Apple units in the country are fastest on Smart across all network technologies during the same period.

Samsung devices running on the Smart 5G network recorded a median download speed of 277.44Mbps and a median upload speed of 29.68Mbps. In comparison, Globe 5G posted 110.26Mbps median download speed and just 9.93Mbps median upload speed.

Meanwhile, Apple units operating the Smart 5G network have a median download speed of 208.76Mbps, knocking down Globe 5G’s 112.12Mbps. In terms of median upload speed, Apple devices recorded 20.25Mbps on the Smart network versus Globe 5G’s 8.01Mbps.

The report also showed that Samsung devices were fastest on Smart across all network technologies, as it recorded a median download speed of 28.34Mbps. Its median upload speed was 6.45Mbps. On the other hand, Globe only recorded 15.33Mbps median download speed and 3.77Mbps median upload speed.

The same thing goes with Apple devices.

Apple units running on the Smart network across various networks recorded a median download speed of 39.66Mbps versus Globe’s 22.23Mbps, while it posted 6.34Mbps median upload speed versus its rival’s 4.6Mbps.
