realme 7 Long Term Review

A few months ago, realme Philippines has released the realme 7 and it’s a quite good mid-range smartphone as this one sports everything that you need on a smartphone especially for a mid-range one. First, we got here a new design and then we got also here some upgraded specs but a few months later. Is the realme 7 still a good smartphone? Let’s check it out.

Still tough and beautiful

One of the advantages of the realme 7 is the design of the smartphone. It packs a premium look with a big departure from other realme smartphones but we do love the matte glass look of the smartphone with a vertical slice that adds some flair to the design of the smartphone and don’t get fooled with that one because this one is still made up of plastic after months of usage, the smartphone’s body proved that it can withstand drops and scratches but of course, you can just opt for the case if you want it protected.

We got here everything that we need in this smartphone. First, there’s the USB-C port below the smartphone and then we also got here a 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone is on the chunky side too and it got some weight but after long time of usage, this doesn’t bother me that much.

For the fingerprint scanner, we got the fingerprint scanner at the home button of the smartphone and I actually prefer using that one as I got here a faster way of unlocking the smartphone.

Fine display

The realme 7 opted for an IPS display instead of AMOLED one but we got here a 90Hz refresh rate and honestly, I would prefer an AMOLED display over this one but it’s nice to have a silky smooth browsing and navigation on this one. Unfortunately, the realme 7 doesn’t have optimizations for games to render up to 90fps on games which is a bummer.

Nonetheless, I’m still happy with the colors on this smartphone and the viewing angles of this one would be just fine for everyday usage so overall, I don’t have any complaints with the display of the smartphone.

Looooooong battery

The realme 7 comes with a 5000mAh battery and since the start of using the smartphone, we’re pretty happy with the results that we got on this one. The realme 7 might not be as efficient as the realme 7 Pro but this one is doing just fine and it can last up to a day of normal usage. And oh, there’s the 30W Dart Charge too so you don’t have to worry about charging this one.

Amazing performance

Despite using the realme 7 for 4 months now, there were no degradation in the performance of the smartphone and when it comes to benchmark results, I’m still pretty happy with this one as the smartphone can still run most games including the latest ones like Genshin Impact.

For those who don’t know, the smartphone comes with a Helio G95 Octa-Core Processor along with 8GBof RAM. For the storage, there’s the 128GB which is more than enough for today’s standards and needs. Games didn’t had any problems running on this one as you can see in our gaming video below:

In our benchmarks, the realme 7 did a really good job in the scores and even competing with its pro brother which makes the realme 7 competitive in the mid-range gaming smartphone scene.

Camera

After updates and updates on the smartphone, the camera of the realme 7 has even improved. The shots that we got on this one is far from the one that we’ve experienced on the realme 7 Pro but the updates that were done on the realme 7 is a welcome upgrade as we got here better photos and sharper shots. Check out the shots that we took using the realme 7

Verdict

The realme 7 might be out in the market for a while now but it’s still competitive as we got here powerful hardware inside and the design of the smartphone is just really interesting. As for the updates, this one still comes with that one and the camera has definitely improved on the realme 7 over the updates and for the battery life and performance? we’re still really happy for this one.

The realme 7 is still available in the market for Php14,990.
