DJI Osmo Pocket 4P launches with dual cameras and 4K 240fps video

DJI has officially launched the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P in China, a month after the pocket gimbal camera made its debut at the Cannes Film Festival.The new Osmo Pocket 4P features a dual-camera system, including a large 1-inch main sensor and a dedicated telephoto camera.

The primary camera uses a 1-inch sensor with LOFIC technology, an f/2.0 aperture, and a 20mm equivalent focal length. It is paired with a telephoto camera featuring a 1/1.28-inch sensor, an f/1.8 aperture, and a 60mm equivalent focal length. The telephoto camera provides 3x native optical zoom and up to 12x digital zoom

DJI has also equipped the Osmo Pocket 4P with a three-axis mechanical gimbal and intelligent subject tracking. It supports 10-bit video recording and DJI’s D-Log2 colour profile for more flexibility during post-production.

Up to 4K 240fps slow-motion recording

The DJI Osmo Pocket 4P can record videos at up to 4K resolution at 60fps. For slow-motion videos, it supports recording at up to 4K 240fps. The camera can also capture 37-megapixel still images and includes a Panorama mode for wider shots.

A 2-inch rotating touchscreen is available for framing shots and navigating the camera’s controls. The display can reach up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness, making it easier to use outdoors. Other features include three built-in microphones, 103GB of internal storage, and microSD card expansion of up to 1TB. The camera weighs 230 grams.

Battery and connectivity

Powering the Osmo Pocket 4P is a 1,545mAh battery with fast-charging support. According to DJI, the camera can charge from zero to 80% in around 18 minutes, while a complete charge takes approximately 32 minutes. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth LE 5.4.

The Osmo Pocket 4P arrives as a direct competitor to the recently announced Insta360 Luna Ultra, which also features a dual-camera pocket gimbal design. The competition between the two brands extends beyond their products, with DJI and Insta360 currently involved in patent-related legal disputes.

DJI Osmo Pocket 4P price and availability

The DJI Osmo Pocket 4P is now available for pre-order in China in Classic Black and Pearl White colour options.

The standard DJI Osmo Pocket 4P kit is priced at CNY 3,799, or around USD 560. Meanwhile, the Osmo Pocket 4P Vlog Kit is priced at CNY 4,299, or approximately USD 635.
