Ford has officially revealed the name of its upcoming purpose-built midsize electric pickup truck to be driving soon in the US roads and it’s the Ford Fathom.
It’s built on Ford’s breakthrough Universal EV Platform, the Fathom aims to bring electric trucks with a sub-US$30,000 price point and pre-orders opening in early 2027.

Unlike the F-150 Lightning or Mustang Mach-E, Ford chose a brand-new name to signal a fresh, software-electric architecture. Derived from both nautical measurement and the concept of deep understanding, the “Fathom” moniker represents adaptability and efficiency.
The truck combines a compact exterior footprint with interior cabin volume comparable to popular midsize crossovers like the Toyota RAV4, the most famous SUV in North America.
BlueCruise Hands-Free Driving, Bidirectional Power, and Sub-$30K MSRP
Some features confirmed for the Fathom include BlueCruise hands-free driving capabilities, a large high-resolution touchscreen, a front frunk, Apple Maps integration, and bidirectional V2L power.
Starting at an estimated MSRP of around $28,350 to $29,945 (approx. PHP 1.65 Million to PHP 1.75 Million), Ford targets high-volume affordability. Pre-orders will officially open in early 2027, marking Ford’s aggressive push into affordable, scalable electric utility vehicles.
