Vivo X21 Hands-On and Quick Review

The Vivo X21 is coming to the Philippines and it’s the most exciting and most innovative smartphone that the company has ever released. We got the smartphone a few weeks ago and of course, we took the smartphone for a hands-on.

The smartphone does have a premium design compared to its brothers that have a cheaper feel and build. This one? It feels like a flagship smartphone. It fits well in my hand thanks to its curves and yes, I enjoyed using the smartphone thanks to its glass and metal design.

Yep, it’s glass at the back and since we have an under-display fingerprint scanner, the Vivo X21 UD doesn’t have an ugly oval shape at the back for the fingerprint scanner. Speaking of the fingerprint scanner, the smartphone’s under display fingerprint scanner isn’t as fast as I expected. But don’t worry, there’s face unlock too if you’re not fond of the fingerprint scanner on the display. Oh and yes, it’s just a portion of the display in where it has a fingerprint scanner and not the whole display itself.

At the front, there’s the beautiful 6.3-inch AMOLED display with a notch at the top. It’s not the smallest notch on a smartphone but it will do just fine and it just looks well to me. The colors are good and the viewing angles are just fine.

The smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with FunTouch OS and of course, the smartphone’s UI is heavily customized but it does feel fine to me. It’s still user-friendly and everything on the smartphone was accessible.
