Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi Note 17 series in China. It is comprised of the standard Redmi Note 17 and the premium Redmi Note 17 Pro. Both smartphones are currently on sale in China, with global edition expected soon.

Redmi Note 17: Giant 7-inch OLED Display and 8,000mAh Battery

The standard Redmi Note 17 stands out with a massive 7-inch OLED display, making it one of the largest panels at its range. The screen features a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,800 nits peak brightness, and works with wet or gloved hands.

Under the hood, it is equipped with a giant 8,000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging.

Powering the device is a 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and expandable storage.

Interestingly, the Redmi Note 17 Pro is the smaller model with a 6.83-inch display. However, it boasts a higher-end 12-bit 1.5K OLED panel capable of reaching a blistering 3,500 nits of peak brightness.

Despite its slightly smaller chassis, the Pro variant packs a larger 9,000mAh Silicon-Carbon battery that supports fast 67W charging. The Pro runs on a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor, utilizes Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and features extreme IP68/IP69K water and dust resistance.

Dual 50MP Cameras and Xiaomi’s 5-Year Battery Warranty

For cameras, both phones feature basic setups led by a 50MP primary camera on the back and an 8MP front-facing shooter. The Pro model adds a secondary 2MP depth sensor to the rear layout. To address any battery health concerns, Xiaomi is bundling both phones in China with a special five-year battery replacement program.

If the battery health drops below 80% within the first four years, users get a free replacement. In the fifth year, they are eligible for a free upgrade to an even larger-capacity battery.
