The mobile internet is about to get fast as Smart has introduced the country’s first LTE-Advanced! Smart Communications has begun rolling out the country’s first LTE-A service which gives us faster and better data speeds than the current LTE services.
The service is initially deployed in Boracay, Aklan and our friends from Smart has posted speeds of up to 250 Mbps! I know, it’s really fast and it will just take a few minutes or seconds to download the files that you need from the internet! Smart is also planning to bring 5G soon by the time it arrives sometime in 2020. Smart has been working closely with NTT DoCoMo to bring the development of 5G.
The LTE-A capable devices that you can get right now are the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge. Other manufacturers are expected to introduce their own LTE-A devices soon.
