Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has made it official in Weibo — Xiaomi will ditch chargers with the Mi 11, a move that by Apple that was highly criticized both by consumers and laughed at by other manufacturers. Apple has said that the move is meant to have a carbon-free products in the future and also to ship more products due to the smaller size of their boxes.
As for Xiaomi, it’s not yet detailed why the company has opted for the same move but CEO Lei Jun has said that it will be for environmental protection. I’m guessing is that they’re following the move of Apple too to create smaller boxes and of course, to ship more smartphones in different regions.
