Xiaomi MS11 electric sedan spotted in China

0

Xiaomi’s ambition in the electric vehicle (EV) space has taken a significant stride forward with the imminent launch of its debut EV model, the MS11 electric sedan. Fresh off securing an auto production license from China’s state planning department and acquiring the domain name XiaomiEV.com, the tech giant seems poised to make a notable entrance into the EV market.

A Sneak Peek at the MS11

The upcoming MS11 electric sedan, albeit under heavy camouflage, undertook high-temperature tests on the Urumqi-Changji urban expressway. This sighting marks a substantial milestone for Xiaomi’s EV endeavor, particularly after the company’s declaration of entering the EV sphere in early 2021.

While skepticism surrounded Xiaomi’s leap into the electric vehicle landscape, the company’s CEO, Lei Jun, remained resolute in his commitment to deliver results. During an investor conference, Lei Jun assured that Xiaomi’s electric car project was not only on track but also racing ahead of schedule. The audacious promise to launch EVs by the first half of 2024 seems to be not just attainable but exceeded.

Leaked Details and Strategic Partnerships

Intriguing details about the MS11’s battery emerged in June, revealing an electric powerhouse equipped with a 101 kWh ternary (NMC) battery. The long-range version of the vehicle boasts an 800 km range and is built on the 800V architecture. Although its energy density at 157 Wh/kg might not be groundbreaking, Xiaomi’s strategic battery partnerships have raised eyebrows. Contrary to expectations, the company has joined hands not only with CATL but also CALB for battery supply, a move attributed to cost-efficiency considerations.

Taking on the Competition

The Xiaomi MS11 electric sedan is gearing up to challenge formidable rivals like the Tesla Model 3, BYD Seal, Deepal SL03, and various other Chinese EV sedans. Positioned within the fiercely competitive price range of RMB 200,000 (~Php1.6M), the MS11 aims to capture the attention of budget-conscious consumers without compromising on features or performance.

realme 11 Pro+ 5G Hands-on & First Impressions

The latest smartphone from realme is here and they pack some of the features that we’ve been looking for on a midrange smartphone — a powerful 200MP main camera and of course a leap in design with its vegan leather back.

realme Pro+ G

The sexiest realme N phone

realme Pro+ G

The realme 11 Pro+ 5G is the sexiest realme number smartphone that we’ve ever seen from the brand as it features a very unique design that we haven’t seen before on realme smartphones. It features a vegan leather back and it comes with a line in the middle that adds personality to the smartphone.

It’s very ergonomic as well as the curves are just perfect on the sides and holding it was very comfortable as well as it comes with light materials. On the front, there’s the curved glass as well and it does look really nice to look at.

realme Pro+ G

While the frame of the smartphone is made of plastic, it still feels solid. Below, we can find here the USB-C port along with the SIM card tray and as expected, there’s no headphone jack on this smartphone. We also have dual speakers which are quite immersive as they are loud on both gaming and also for watching videos.

realme Pro+ G

Another cool feature of the realme 11 Pro+ 5G is the support for 100W SUPERVOOC Flash Charging. And yes, I can fully charge the smartphone in just a few minutes. It’s amazingly fast.

Fine display

realme Pro+ G

As expected, the display of the smartphone is really nice. We got here a 120Hz Curved OLED display and also a full HD+ resolution. It’s beautiful and responsive as well whether you want it to look at photos, watch videos, or even for gaming. The realme 11 Pro+ 5G’s display will do just fine.

Large memory

realme Pro+ G

One of the things that I love about it is the large memory of the smartphone. There’s 12GB of RAM on the smartphone along with 512GB of internal storage. This makes the smartphone one of the midrangers to pack a pretty large memory inside.

The RAM is more than enough but you can even expand it to 24GB if you want to. While the 512GB of memory is something that I really appreciate as I can install more games, apps, and even emulators on the smartphone without any problems with storage.

A decent power

realme Pro+ G

For the processing power, the realme 11 Pro+ 5G comes with a Dimensity 7050 chipset from MediaTek while it’s powerful enough for most games and apps, this one falls below Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor. Nonetheless, it was powerful enough for a daily usage and even on the latest games on mid settings.

The 200MP Camera

realme Pro+ G

One of the highlights of the realme 11 Pro+ 5G is the 200MP main camera with a dedicated Hi-Res tab on the camera app. This gives you a resolution of 16320 x 122402 photo which is one of the biggest that you can get on a smartphone. It also comes with OIS for a steadier photo and video. While the 200MP camera might sound amazing, you might rarely use but it was useful for taking photos for objects that are afar.

While in our other shots, we pretty much liked what we got on the smartphone. They’re crisp and they’re pretty good but I noticed that the colors are on the warmer side. It isn’t bad as the shots were still good and again, they’re pretty crisp.

Verdict

realme Pro+ G

So far, the realme 11 Pro+ 5G does give us a pretty good impression about the smartphone especially when it comes to the camera. The design is definitely unique and I really liked that they choosed vegan leather for this as it gives out a premium vibe on the smartphone. While the Dimensity 7050 chipset of the smartphone might not be the most powerful one, it’s decent enough for everyday use.
