Top 5 reasons why the ASUS Zenbook Duo is the best notebook for productivity

0

The ASUS Zenbook Duo is definitely one of the most interesting notebooks this year as we got a dual-screen display on the notebook and it’s called the Screenpad+. it’s a secondary display for the notebook and it lets do more as you can extend the display of the notebook to the Screenpad+ of the notebook.

But the question remains, how is the ASUS Zenbook Duo became the perfect partner for productivity?

1. The Screenpad+ is awesome

For productivity, it’s a big deal that you have a second screen for your notebooks and with the ASUS Zenbook Duo, you can get the Screenpad+ in where you can use the display as a second screen. Not only that, but it’s also a touchscreen display so you can use the Screenpad+ for your CAD drawings and also on photoshop.

That’s not the only situation in where the Screenpad+ of the notebook works, you can also use it as a secondary display for gaming and also for photo and video editing. In my case, I’ve been using the Screenpad+ to have the our map in Minecraft and the game itself on the main display. This is also useful in video editing in where the timeline can be found on the Screenpad+ while the editing itself is on the main display. The touch screen display of the Screenpad+ also helps in the productivity of the notebook

2. The notebook is powerful enough

Inside the notebook is a 10th-generation Intel Core processor and trust me, the processor is already enough to be powerful enough for your office needs and also for your multitasking on the dual display of the notebook.

The processor is also paired with an Nvidia MX250 GPU which is not the most powerful GPU out there in the market but it is capable of running most games without problems including Overwatch in where the notebook was able to get 60fps at Ultra settings and of

3. Fast and secure

Again, there’s the 10th generation Intel Core processor inside the notebook which is faster and more secure compared to the previous generation. There’s Windows Hello on the notebook too thanks to the IR camera of the ASUS Zenbook Duo so you don’t need to type in your password on the notebook and of course, this one makes the notebook even more secure.

4. Long battery life

Despite having two displays on the notebook, the ASUS Zenbook Duo was still able to get a battery life of 4-5 hours in my usage. I was actually expecting less on the battery side of the notebook since the displays take a lot of power from the battery but surprisingly, we’re getting enough battery life that can last for a few hours.

5. No compromise on ports

Unlike the Macbook family and some Windows notebooks, the ASUS Zenbook Duo does come with enough ports that you need for work. There’s the USB-A ports in where you can plug in your peripherals and then there’s the USB-C and of course, the notebook does come with HDMI so you can connect any external displays on the notebook.

So those are just some of the things that I love to use on the ASUS Zenbook Duo. The specs and the features on the notebook are just fine for office or casual usage. If you want to have more power, you can opt for the ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo that comes with RTX 2060 GPU which is perfect for gamers who are always on the go.

The ASUS Zenbook Duo is now available for Php74,995.

ASUS is also running a promotion right now for every purchase of Zenbook Duo. For every purchase of the notebook, you can get a free Fujifilm Instax mini Liplay worth Php9,995, ASUS Nereus bag worth Php2,995, and an ASUS 30th  Anniversary premium items worth PHP 6,000, for a grand total value of PHP 18,994 You can check out the promotion here:

OPPO Reno 2 Review

0

The OPPO Reno series is the company’s smartphone series that offers both the beauty and also the best in camera. In our review of the OPPO Reno and the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom, we really appreciate the beauty of both smartphones thanks to its beautiful and unique design of the smartphones but how about the second-generation of OPPO smartphones? Check it out in our review of the smartphones below.

OPPO Reno 2 Review: Design and construction

One of the unique and best-selling points of the OPPO Reno2 is the design of the smartphone. We still have a very familiar design DNA from the first generation of OPPO smartphones but this one has a better ergonomics and of course, a better look compared to its predecessors.

The OPPO Reno 2 still packs the perfect curves that we are all craving on the smartphone and it fits perfectly in my hand thanks to the 20:9 display aspect ratio on the smartphone which means that this one is taller. It’s easy on the hand and it now features a slippery but glossy glass at the back of the smartphone. The one that we got comes in luminous black and the colors are just beautiful and it really moves depending on the light that passes through it.

We still have the O-dot at the back of the smartphone which is a bump that elevates the smartphone which protects the glass of the camera so you won’t have any scratches on the smartphone’s camera but don’t worry because even without that, you’ll probably use the included case on the smartphone which is by the way, really cool and premium.

The OPPO Reno 2 sports a USB-C port below and then there’s the speaker grill along with the headphone jack. Yep, OPPO Reno 2 still sports a headphone jack which is a plus for most people as most flagship smartphones are now ditching this feature.

OPPO Reno 2 Review: Display

The OPPO Reno 2 doesn’t have a notch just like the previous generation thanks to the pop-up sharkfin camera of the smartphone. It’s a massive 6.5-inch AMOLED display and the colors are really nice and vibrant. The smartphone also packs a 20:9 display aspect ratio which makes the smartphone easier to hold since we got here a narrower but taller display.

Overall, the display of the smartphone is crisp, nice, and pretty bright even at outdoor usage.

OPPO Reno 2 Review: Battery

The OPPO Reno 2 comes with a juicy and high-capacity battery as we got here a 4000mAh battery and it’s already enough for a full day or even more than a day of usage. In PC Mark, we got a score of 11 hours and 24 minutes  which is pretty good and of course, this one is paired with the 20W VOOC 3.0 Fast Charger which will charge your smartphone in an hour and a few minutes.

OPPO Reno 2 Review: Software

The OPPO Reno 2 still runs on Color OS and just like the other OPPO smartphones and as expected, this is heavily skinned which is very different from stock Android but don’t worry because this one is easy to use and understand. The transitions and the animations on this one are smooth and everything is accessible.

If you’re expecting a near-stock Android experience, well, we’re far from that as we’re getting a lot of pre-installed applications on this smartphone but don’t worry because most of them are pretty useful.

OPPO Reno 2 Review: Performance

One of the best things about the smartphone is that the OPPO Reno 2 is running on the Snapdragon 730G processor which is a more powerful version of the Snapdragon 730 and this one is made for gaming. The smartphone will be able to run most apps without a problem and if you’re curious about performance, the OPPO Reno 2 will be able to run most apps without a problem and gaming would be fine on this one. Check out the benchmarks below:

As expected, the Snapdragon 730G performed better than I expected. It excelled in games and it might not be as good as the Snapdragon 855 processor, but this one rock and will definitely run the things that you need on the smartphone. Here are the benchmark scores on gaming for the OPPO Reno2:

Actually, the scores that we got aren’t disappointing and Qualcomm didn’t fail to impress us with the Snapdragon 730G processor, however, I still think that some games can be optimized more on the Snapdragon 730G like PUBG Mobile.

OPPO Reno 2 Review: Camera

The camera of the OPPO Reno 2 is one of the essential features of the smartphone. Actually, OPPO is boasting about its quad-camera setup on the smartphone. Well, the OPPO Reno 2 isn’t the cheapest one nor the best one with this feature but OPPO promises an impressive video quality on the OPPO Reno 2.

The smartphone comes with a 48MP main camera along with, 8MP ultrawide lens, 13MP telephoto lens, and a 2MP mono lens that is used for depth sensing. Well, the camera of the OPPO Reno 2 isn’t as good as the one on the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom but Reno 2 will do just fine. Check out the photos that I took using the OPPO Reno 2:

Another cool feature on the OPPO Reno 2 is the ultra steady video in where we can get amazing stabilization on videos. This a feature in where you can get really stabilized videos but the videos will be cropped and they’re recommended only at well-lit conditions. Check out the video below vs. the iPhone 11:

OPPO Reno 2 Review: Verdict

The OPPO Reno 2 is a decent smartphone from the Chinese company. It isn’t the best one when it comes to the hardware inside and also the camera but the smartphone is a balanced one when it comes to specifications and its price. We got a sexier and better look on the Reno 2 and we still have that headphone jack thankfully. The display is beautiful and the camera will do just fine especially when it comes to video stabilization.

The Snapdragon 730G might not be the best one in the market right now but it definitely does its job as a decent processor for the overall usage of the smartphone. The OPPO Reno 2 might be a little bit expensive for some as this one is priced at Php29,990.

The high-end Mac Pro will cost you Php2.7 million

0

Ever wonder what you’ll do with your money if you won the lottery? yeah, me too. But I think Apple has an answer for all of you as the all-new Mac Pro is now available for order and the highest spec-ed Mac Pro that you can get in the Philippines will cost you Php2.7 million pesos. Nope, that’s not a typo.

What can you buy with Php2.7 million pesos? Well, a car. Probably two cars or you can buy a house. Two houses if you can.

Now, the question is, why the hell is the Mac Pro so expensive? What the hell does this computer have? Does it pack 24K gold inside? Is it made up of diamonds? Do we have a Supreme branding in there? Do we have a banana taped on the Mac Pro? Well, guys, the specifications and hardware that you can get are just mind-blowing.

First, we have a Mac Pro tower that starts at Php359,990 while the Mac Pro Rack which will be coming soon will start at Php389,990. If you want the most powerful machine out there, be sure to get the 2.5GHz 28‑core Intel Xeon W processor, Turbo Boost up to 4.4GHz which will cost you Php350,000 and then there’s the 1.5TB (12x128GB) of DDR4 ECC memory which will cost you Php1,250,000. On the GPU side, there’s the two Radeon Pro Vega II Duo with 2x32GB of HBM2 memory each that will cost you Php540,000.

256GB SSD storage is definitely not enough for you so you would probably upgrade your Mac Pro to 4TB SSD storage which will cost you Php70,000 and if you’re into video editing, you would probably buy an Apple Afterburner card which will cost you Php100,000.

And of course, you would want the best for your Mac Pro so you’ll get a Stainless steel frame with wheels which will cost you Php20,000 and also the Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Trackpad 2 set for Php8,490.

Lastly, there is the pre-installed software including Final Cut Pro X for Php14,990 and the Logic Pro X for Php9,990.

All in all, that’s ₱2,723,460.00. I don’t know with you guys but I’m not buying this one for personal usage or as a Facebook machine. However, professionals who need a lot of power will definitely love this one.

And oh, the prices will definitely go up once these things are now available in the country:

  • Two Radeon Pro W5700X with 16GB of GDDR6 memory each
  • 8TB SSD
  • Mac Pro Rack

0

The Future is here!

Looks like we’re looking at the future now. OPPO has just unveiled their newest innovations at Shenzhen, China including the OPPO AR Glass that is aimed to compete against the Microsoft Hololens.

We might not see this product out in the market anytime soon but it’s really nice to see that OPPO has been innovating on this segment too aside from the smartphones.

In the stage demo, it was clearly seen that the OPPO AR Glass work similarly to the Hololens with its diffractive waveguide technology and also a fisheye camera. According to OPPO, they’re working on the content, services, and games for the headset.

Right now, the details are still scarce but it’s nice to see that OPPO is expanding into other devices aside from the smartphones.
