Realme 5 and 5 Pro launches today, gets priced

Realme 5 and the Realme 5 Pro has been announced today and both smartphones want to change the game again by offering powerful hardware and specs inside but still offer a very low price on the smartphone. Both smartphones will run on brand new processors and both smartphones will also come with a quad-camera setup.

The Realme 5 might be the more affordable brother but this one comes with a bigger 6.5-inch HD+ IPS display with 20:9 display aspect ratio but this one has a slower Snapdragon 665 Octa-Core processor compared to the Realme 5 Pro. And of course, there’s the quad-camera setup too on this smartphone.

The Realme 5 Pro packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 processor which is a small upgrade from the predecessor but we do have an upgraded camera over here thanks to the 48MP main camera + 8MP ultra-wide angle lens + 2MP Macro + 2MP Depth sensor

Microsoft is on a roll with numerous product announcements starting from the Surface Laptop 3 that comes in 13.5″ and 15″ variants, Surface Pro X and Surface Duo. Surface Pro 7 is the next big thing from Microsoft following the success to the most popular 2-in-1 last 2018, the Surface Pro 6.

One of the core highlights of Surface Pro 7 is the USB-C port that opens up charging, external displays, and even more bandwidth. The Surface Pro 7 is also more affordable thanks to the base model packing an Intel Core i3 at $749 compared to the Surface Pro 6’s base model at $899.

This year, Microsoft focused more on the Surface Pro 7’s Pen aside from its specs. About two-thirds of the Surface Pro 7’s keynote highlighted the Surface Pen’s integration with Windows apps such as Edge, Word, and Excel. The Surface Pen lets you take notes and snippets when using edge and can easily be exported to Microsoft Word. Using Word, the pen lets you add drawn comments and provides in-line editing. As for Excel, the Pen can now be used to edit letters or words in a cell just without having to select the cell first to enter editing.

Pricing and Availability

The full spec and price list of the Surface Pro 7 haven’t been unveiled yet. We only know that it’ll come in the variants listed above. It is still unclear whether the Surface Pro 7 will use Comet Lake or Ice Lake CPUs from Intel. The base model has an i3 processor, 4GB Ram and 128GB SSD starts at $749 and will be available on October 22, 2019. Expect more details once Microsoft launches the Surface Pro 7’s product page.

Microsoft Surface ProX is an ARM-powered 2-in-1 Windows device

Microsoft has unveiled today the thinnest Surface Pro ever and it’s the Surface ProX. This one is really different because this one is not only thin but this one also runs on an ARM processor and it does have a really thin bezel that’s why despite having a 12-inch chassis, this one has a 13-inch display. Not only that, this one has a lot of unique features.

First, the Surface ProX features a 13-inch PixelSense display with 2880×1920 display aspect ratio. This one has unique hardware too called the Surface Slim pen too with pen storage on the keyboard which charges the pen.

This one runs on a customized Microsoft SQ1 chipset that is made in partnership with Qualcomm and it has a redesigned GPU to give you a better performance thanks to the AI engine inside the tablet. According to Microsoft, the Microsoft Surface ProXX offers 3x more performance per watt than the Surface Pro 6 and despite running on ARM-based processor, this one runs on full Windows and also with applications such as Office and other products

Microsoft Surface Duo is a dual-screen Android Phone

This is the biggest surprise of Microsoft today and it’s the Microsoft Surface Duo and just like the Microsoft Surface Neo, this thing is a dual-screen device and my oh my, this one isn’t running on Windows and this one runs on the most popular Operating system for mobile phones, Android. Yep, it’s Android and it’s from Microsoft.

This thing does look like a passport when folded but this one has a dual display and it has a hinge that folds up to 360-degrees. And since we’re getting a dual display on the smartphone, you can run two applications at once on the Microsoft Surface Duo. This is possible thanks to Microsoft partnering with Google to bring the best experience on the smartphone.

And yes, this one comes with Google Play and you’ll be able to play games and take advantage of the dual screens of the smartphone. You can use one display for the game and the other one for the controller of the game.

Not much of the hardware inside the smartphone has been discussed which is reasonable since this smartphone will arrive this holiday 2020.

Microsoft Launches Surface Laptop 3 – Now with AMD Ryzen and Pink Variant

October started with Microsoft’s Surface event with the first product just unveiled, the Surface Laptop 3. According to Microsoft, the previous Surface Laptop 2 had the highest rated customer satisfaction compared to other laptops of its class. It inspired Microsoft to launch the Surface Laptop 3 in two sizes: 13.5″ and a 15″ variant.

The Surface Laptop 3 maintains the beloved 3:2 aspect ration and comes with Intel’s 10th Generation Ice Lake processors. It sports a 1-finger lift feature with an always-on feature upon opening the laptop. The keyboard is upgraded with a crucial 1.3mm travel paired with a 20% larger trackpad.

The bigger 15-inch model comes with a Ryzen Surface Edition processor. According to Microsoft, this Ryzen chip is a custom SoC that is optimized for the Surface Laptop 3 with more graphics power than a traditional Ryzen 3rd gen mobile processor.

Microsoft also unveiled fast charging technology for its Surface products. This feature promises the Surface devices to charge up to 80% in less than an hour. Another surprise by Microsoft is a PINK edition of the Surface Laptop 3. Aside from the sandstone finish, the pink version uses an all-aluminum design with a sandstone finish.

Pricing and Availability

Both the Surface Laptop 3 13″ and Surface Laptop 15″ Ryzen Surface Edition is available for pre-order starting at $999 and $1199, respectively. The Surface Laptop 3 will be available beginning October 22, 2019.
