The midrange segment is really hot in our country as it offers a balance of price and features. Today, we have a lot of midrange smartphones that are offering different kind of features and one of the best midrange smartphone that you can get in the market is the Vivo V11. There are two smartphones in the series – V11 and V11i but the former sports better specifications. To know more about the smartphone, just keep on reading.
Loving the gradient color
The Vivo V11 went to the plastic route instead of glass but make no mistake because the smartphone does feel comfortable to hold and it doesn’t feel cheap. Addition to that is the starry night look on the smartphone. The glittering and shining design of the smartphone is really premium to look at along with the gold accents of the protruding camera and the Vivo logo.
There’s no shortage of connectivity here as the Vivo V11 sports both a micro USB and also a 3.5mm headphone jack however, it’s a bummer that the smartphone is still using the micro USB port instead of USB-C which is commonly used by smartphones these days whether it is a flagship smartphone, midrange, or an entry-level smartphone.
There’s no fingerprint scanner in sight at the back as the Vivo V11 features an under-display fingerprint scanner, unlike the Vivo V11i. This way, the smartphone looks sleeker and cleaner since there’s no fingerprint scanner on the front or at the back of the smartphone and in our usage, we really felt that the under-display fingerprint scanner isn’t as fast as the normal fingerprint scanner on a smartphone but don’t worry because the face unlock of the smartphone was really fast which is why I don’t use the under-display fingerprint scanner that much.
There’s a triple card tray on the Vivo V11 too so you don’t have to worry about having a dual sim card and a microSD card altogether in case the 64GB of internal storage of the Vivo V11 isn’t enough for you.
Great AMOLED display
One of the highlights of this smartphone is the AMOLED display and damn, it was vivid and amazing. The colors pops out and it is as great as or even better than the one on the Vivo X21. I really like colors of it and the smartphone was really usable even at direct sunlight. Oh and the fingerprint scanner on the display? It’s practically invisible and you won’t see it on the display itself so you don’t have to worry about it that much.
The notch? they call it the Halo Fullview display which is basically their term for the tiny notch at the top and honestly, I barely notice it. I actually didn’t care that the Vivo V11 does have a small notch at the top.
Powerful performance inside
The smartphone does come with a neat and swift UI similar to most Vivo smartphones. There’s the Jovi assistant which might help you in checking out your latest notifications and other applications while the functions can be seen by swiping up and notifications by swiping down from the top.
Here’s my favorite part about the smartphone – the performance. The Vivo V11 is powered by the Snapdragon 660 chipset which is more than a year old but it still performs well until today. It’s not the fastest one today but the smartphone is already capable of most apps and games without a problem. Check out our benchmark scores below.

When it comes to gaming, the Vivo V11 can handle most of the stuff pretty well as the smartphone can run games such as PUBG Mobile, Asphalt 9 and Real Racing 3 at these scores at Gamebench.
PUBG Mobile
Asphalt
Real Racing 3
We were able to run PUBG Mobile at HD settings however the FPS is limited only to high which resulted in locked 30fps but we got a pretty good FPS stability thanks to the SD660 inside the smartphone. Both the Asphalt 9 and Real Racing 3 also performed well on Gamebench.
The camera of the Vivo V11 is a big leap from the previous generation. I love the camera of the Vivo V11 and most of the portrait shots that I took using the smartphone was fast and the bokeh was really on point. The images that I took have been optimized every time I shot it. It’s a big leap from the previous generation when it comes to the camera as the Vivo V11 offers one of the best cameras on a mid-range smartphone. Check out the shots that I took using the Vivo V11:

Verdict
The Vivo V11 is my most favorite smartphone from the company. It’s a balance of price and beauty. The smartphone might not be made up of glass but the design of the smartphone is stunning and the performance and camera of the smartphone was really great.
There’s an under-display fingerprint scanner on the smartphone too, however, it isn’t as fast as normal fingerprint scanners but the IR face unlock was really awesome.
The Vivo V11 is a great mid-range smartphone and it’s now available for Php19,999
Samsung DeX is one of the most underrated features of the Samsung Galaxy smartphones. With this feature, you would be able to dock your smartphone to the monitor using the DeX cable or DeX dock to have a desktop environment and also allow the usage of keyboard and mouse.

Private beta of Linux on DeX is now ongoing but if you want to participate the beta, you can actually pre-register here until December 14, 2018.
