LG Launches the OLED W TV in the Philippines

0

LG is the #1 brand when it comes to OLED TV and recently, the Korean company has launched their flagship TV at the National Museum of Natural History. The 77” OLED Wallpaper TV (W8) is a combination of a beauty and a beast as the TV sports a design that can really drop your jaw and also a panel that is so immersive that it will take you to a different dimension when watching on it.

The LG OLED Wallpaper TV W8 is the company’s unmatched home entertainment TV that is only at 2.57mm thin and 77-inches wide. It actually feels like the TV is a large picture frame or a window and thanks to its thin profile, you’ll barely notice that this is a TV. The LG OLED W TV also has an immersive panel that gives a true-to-life color.

The clarity, sharpness, color, and the viewing angles of the LG OLED W TV is just great. It’s stunning not just because of its design but also because of the near-cinematic experience at your own home. The OLED panel is really a game changer as the blacks were really black and the colors are really popping out of the display.

In case you want to experience the LG OLED W TV, LG Philippines will be giving away one 77-inch LG OLED TV W8, one 55-inch Super UHD TVs, two 43-inch UHD TVs, five SK5 SoundBars, eleven PK5 Portable Speakers and ten Netflix Premium memberships (valid for three months) for every purchase of the LG OLED TV from now until Sept. 2.

Vivo Shows off the TOF 3D Sensing Tech at MWC

1

Vivo revealed the TOF or Time of Flight 3D Sensing technology at MWC Shanghai 2018. This is used for imaging, AR, and human-machine interaction which means that this technology will improve how we use our smartphones.

This technology will detect the time it takes emitted pulse light to retun to the sensor to accurately map objects up to three meters in front of it. This will allow facial, motion and gesture recognition along with 3D photography and AR to their next generation of their devices.

The TOF 3D Sensing technology also allows precise and accurate tracking of gestures and movements of the entire user’s body which will allow you to have better AI beautification too on photography applications. Merging this one to AR will allow having a more accurate tracking which is perfect for mixed reality games and applications.

This technology might be too technical for some but this is actually exciting for Vivo smartphones because the TOF 3D Sensing Tech will drastically improve the cameras and the AR capabilities of the smartphones. It will also have a great improvement in the AR and MR capabilities of their smartphones.

Huawei Nova 3i Quick Hands-On & First Impressions

0

The Huawei Nova 3i is coming to our shores soon and right now, you can pre-order the smartphone starting today. This is the most exciting Huawei Nova smartphone ever not only because James Reid is headlining the smartphone but because of its hardware and features too. Want to know more? Check out our first impressions of the Huawei Nova 3i.

First things first, this unit is actually from the newly-built Huawei Concept Store at Glorietta and yes, they already have a unit in where we can actually try out the Huawei Nova 3i however, the GPU turbo boost isn’t available yet on the smartphone.

When I first saw the Huawei Nova 3i, I already know that this is the sexiest mid-range smartphone that is available right now. Yep, sexiest. That’s actually a bold word for a smartphone but thanks to its Iris Purple hue on its glass back, the Huawei Nova 3i is really eye catching and the body doesn’t feel heavy. Since we also have curved sides, the smartphone does feel light.

Actually, the smartphone does look like the Huawei P20 Lite except that we have a smaller chin on this one since we lost the Huawei logo on the front and the fingerprint scanner of the smartphone is at the back.  There’s a wide notch too on the front of the smartphone in where it houses the dual front camera of the smartphone. The notch is wider than the one on the Huawei P20 series but it really doesn’t annoy me and the display quality of the smartphone is just fine.

There’s a cool feature on the smartphone too called the Qmoji that works similarly to the Animoji of the iPhone X and despite the lack of the sensors that were present on the iPhone X, the Qmoji of the Huawei Nova 3i still worked well and fast. Since we’re talking about the cameras, the Huawei Nova 3i does feature AI and slo-mo. I wasn’t able to test it that much but the AI capabilities of the smartphone on the camera was really fine as it can detect the environment really fast. Oh and yes, despite the lack of the Leica branding, I’m still happy with the camera of the smartphone.

The Huawei Nova 3i is still using Micro USB instead of USB-C which is disappointing and while we’re not sure about the battery life of the smartphone, I was happy to see that there’s a decent 3340mAh battery on this one. And so far, I really like what I saw with the Huawei Nova 3i. Everything is almost perfect for a mid-range smartphone.

The Huawei Nova 3i is now available for pre-order for Php15,990. If you pre-order the smartphone starting today until July 27, 2018, you can get a free M2 speaker (James Reid not included)

Samsung Galaxy Note9 Press render leaks out

0

The Samsung Galaxy Note9 is coming soon and it is expected to be launch this August 9 and even before the launch, Evan Blass (@evleaks) has already leaked the render of the Samsung Galaxy Note9 and yes, it seems that we’re getting a not so much redesign on the smartphone.

Noticeably, the smartphone has a very similar design to the Galaxy Note8 on the front but the back of the smartphone has a minor redesign. The fingerprint scanner of the smartphone is now placed below the camera which lets the user of the smartphone avoid making a smudge on the camera.

The render shows a blue Galaxy Note9 but the S-Pen looks odd because of its yellow color. We’re not yet sure of the features but expect that the smartphone will be one of the best in the market once it is out. But of course, don’t expect an affordable price on this one too.
