OPPO Unveils F5 Dashing Blue Special Edition

OPPO has surprised us at their OPPO A83 launch when we got to see the OPPO F5 in dashing blue color. There’s only one unit in the country and I was the lucky one who won the OPPO F5 in Dashing Blue.

The smartphone is still the same as the original OPPO F5 except that this smartphone has a metallic blue back. It’s plastic but it looks like a metallic blue with shimmering looks. And yes, it’s damn gorgeous.

The hardware? It’s still the same with the OPPO F5, we got here a Helio P23 processor inside, 4GB RAM, 32GB of storage, a 20-megapixel front camera with A.I. Beautification and also a 16-megapixel rear camera.

OPPO Launches the A83 in the Philippines

OPPO Philippines has finally made it official, the more affordable OPPO smartphone with Full screen display is finally here in the Philipines and it’s the OPPO A83. Despite being a member of the A series of the OPPO smartphone family, the OPPO A83 does have a decent selfie shooter as this one has a feature called smart selfie.

The display of the smartphone is a 5.7-inch HD+ 18:9 Full Screen display that’s why the smartphone looks big but still comfortable to the hand. The Full Screen display was first seen in the OPPO F5 series and thankfully, it’s now in the A series of OPPO smartphones.

The processing power of the smartphone is quite powerful as the OPPO A83 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P23 processor along with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone also packs a 3180mAh of battery and I expect the smartphone would last longer than most smartphones as this one only packs an HD+ display and a decent processor.

The smartphone doesn’t have a fingerprint csanner but it does have a fast face unlock.

OPPO Launching the A83 in the Philippines tomorrow

OPPO Philippines is set to launch their newest smartphone in the A Series, the OPPO A83.

The smartphone isn’t on the market right now and the invite details didn’t reveal that much, however, OPPO Philippines has been teasing a lot of information about the smartphone.

The OPPO A83 will sport a 5.7-inch 18:9 HD+ display similar to the OPPO F5 series and it will also have a similar design to it as this one has a full-screen display.

The OPPO A83 also features face unlock which will make up for the lack of fingerprint scanner on the smartphone. Inside the smartphone is a MediaTek Helio P23 Processor along with 4GB of RAM.

The OPPO A83 will also sport a 13-megapixel rear camera and also an 8-megapixel front camera and it will also sport A.I. Beautification.

The price of the OPPO A83 is expected to be revealed tomorrow but the smartphone will be available this Saturday, January 27.

GeekFam is the Champion of the Predator League 2018!

Malaysia’s GeekFam is successful in bringing home the crown at the Predator league 2018 as they beat Indonesia’s own Boom.ID in a 2-1 match. The Final match is actually a rematch of Boom.ID drop to the lower bracket after they were beaten by GeekFam.

Quid Pro Quo

At the lower bracket before the finals, it was a match between Philippines’ Quid Pro Quo and Boom.ID. It was an intense matchup between the two teams, however, Boom.ID emerged victoriously in a 2-1 match.

The victory of Boom.ID lead them to the finals in a rematch of their upper bracket matchup. However, GeekFam dominated the first game but Boom.ID was able to get a victory in the second game however, they were beaten again by the Malaysian team in the third round.

GeekFam was able to secure USD50,000 along with 5 Acer Predator Helios 300 that we’ve reviewed before (You can check our review of the notebook here)

Boom.ID took home USD25,000 while the Philippines’ Quid Pro Quo took home USD15,000.

Looks like the dream shoes of every console gamers is here. Paul George of Oklahoma City Thunders has just announced that his new shoes, the PG-2 “PlayStation” Colorway, is now official with the collaboration of Nike Basketball and PlayStation.

Paul George loves the PS2 when he was still young which is why this collaboration has been a long time coming according to the 4-time NBA All-Star. Aside from the PlayStation logo at the tongues of the shoe, there are some unique features that you probably would love about the shoes.

The logos at the tongues of the shoes illuminates and you can choose between pulsating or illuminate with just a button. PlayStation gamers would surely love it as this one has a unique PSN Unique Barcode that contains a PSN voucher code that you can redeem at the PlayStation Store.

When you look closely at the shoes, you can clearly see the PlayStation  button colors and symbols on the shoes along with the embossed patent leather on each shoe.

The OPPO F5 is one of my favorite smartphones last year as it features a full screen display, a pretty design, a really good camera with A.I. beautification and also a decent MediaTek processor. Right now, the OPPO F5 is only available in Gold and white, and Black. Both colors looks really good to the smartphone but Red color will always be the striking one. The OPPO F5 Red is now available at the same price.

The OPPO F5 Red will come with 6.0-inch FHD+ Fullscreen display, MediaTek MT6763T processor, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of Internal Storage. The camera of the smartphone features a 20-megapixel front camera and a 16-megapixel rear camera.

Acer Executives Share the Future of Predator League

We had a short chit-chat with the executives of Acer regarding the Predator League that is happening right now at Taman Anggrek Mall in Jakarta, Indonesia and their visions for Acer and of course, their plans for company’s tournament.  And we learned a lot from them.

  • This is the first Predator League event in Jakarta, Indonesia and they’re still Predator League 2019 will be held in Thailand next year
  • There are only 8 teams at Predator League 2018 but they’ll expand to more Asia-Pacific teams next year
  • The Predator League 2019 will be bigger as they’re planning to add another game for the tournament
  • Despite the growth of mobile gaming, they have no plans on including a mobile game next year

It looks like Acer is pretty happy with the Predator League 2018. Actually, the production, program flow, and the matches are so far, really good. The Predator League 2018 really has a good start and we hope that the next Predator League at Thailand would be even better.

Quid Pro Quo Advances to Semi Finals at Predator League 2018

Quid Pro advances to the semifinals after dominating India’s Signify at the Predator League 2018 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Philippine team has been beaten in the first round by Geek Fam and drops to the lower bracket but Quid Pro Quo still managed to beat Sri Lanka’s Team Say No in Losers Round 1 and Ten Twenty of Singapore at the Losers Round 2.

Before the end of the day, Quid Pro Quo has beaten Signify of India to secure the Top 3 spot in the league. This win just secured the team the USD15,000 prize.

Quid Pro Quo will be competing against Indonesia’s Pride Boom.ID in where the winner will get to face Geek Fam in the Finals for the grand prize of USD$150,000 and 5 Acer Predator Helios 300.

Samsung Galaxy A8 & A8+ (2018) Launched in the Philippines

Samsung has just launched the newest Galaxy A smartphones which are set just between the Galaxy J and the Galaxy S Series. But make no mistake, because the Galaxy A8 and A8+ are premium smartphones and they pack features that you can find on the Galaxy S and the Galaxy Note series.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 and A8+ both feature a dual lens-camera on the front with Live Focus in where you can have an adjustable bokeh effect. Both smartphone also features a 16-megapixel f/1.7 rear camera and an infinity display with 18.5:9 display aspect ratio. The smartphones are IP68 Water and dust resistant just like the flagship smartphones.

The Galaxy A8 and A8+ might have an Infinity display, however, the bezels of the smartphone aren’t as thin as the one on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note8. The fingerprint scanner of the smartphone is now placed just below the camera which makes it more accessible than before. Acer will soon unveil the First A.I. Lab and Predator Lab in the Philippines

Mr. Manuel Wong, the Managing Director of Acer Philippines has just revealed that the company will soon reveal the first AI lab in the Philippines during the Predator League 2018 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The details were not disclosed but Mr. Manuel Wong has told us that it’ll be the first AI laboratory in the country.

Aside from the first AI Lab that’ll be powered by Acer, Mr. Manuel Wong has also told us that Acer is currently partnering with academies and universities to bring Predator Lab for the students to experience the power of Predator devices for game development and also use the computers for their curriculum. As of this posting, MAPUA University is the only confirmed University in the country that’ll get a computer laboratory powered by Predator desktops.

AI Laboratories will be used by academies and institutions for different areas of research. We’ll get more details once Acer goes public regarding the AI Laboratory and the Predator Laboratory

This is an exciting development for Predator as students will be able to experience the powerful devices of Predator and they’ll also increase the awareness of the brand. Oh and that AI Laboratory? I’m really excited to see that one.
