Last week, we’ve used the Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Selfie as our main phone and we captured the beauty of Thailand using the cameras of the Cherry Mobile Flare S6. The smartphone is the latest from the company and the smartphone features a 16-megapixel on both the front and rear camera of the smartphone.

The Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Selfie is also running on Cherry OS which boasts a lot of new features including new privacy features and some additional applications. The Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Selfie that we’re using still runs on the early build of software and there were two camera apps that are available on the smartphone – which is the basic camera app and also the Cherry Camera app that comes with the Cherry OS. Since the smartphone is just running on an early build of the software, the camera app might have some changes and improvement once the Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Selfie is out.

But here are the sample shots that we shot at Thailand using the Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Selfie.

Front Camera:

Surprisingly, the front camera of the Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Selfie is pretty good. The quality of the front camera is pretty clear and solid. The colors are better than I expected and the dynamic range of the image are good. This is probably the best selfie smartphone that Cherry Mobile has released. How about its rear camera? Well, check out our photos below.

Just like its front camera, I was surprised with the quality that I got from the Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Selfie’s rear camera. The colors are good however in some cases, the photos tend to be a little bit washed out. But overall, the rear camera of the Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Selfie is a good one and probably one of my favorites. The bokeh mode? Well, they work pretty well too surprisingly despite having only a single camera on the Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Selfie’s rear camera.

The iPhone X is expensive AF when it was announced but as expected, people will still flock to it as the iPhone X is the biggest change to the iPhone since the original. The iPhone X features a bezel-less display with a notch at the top and the smartphone ditched the Touch ID in favor of their new face unlock called Face ID. The smartphone also features Animoji in where you can recreate yourself as an emoji and send it to others.

I was not surprised when the iPhone X arrived here at a very expensive price. Why? Because the smartphone only has a limited supply also, the smartphone is not yet officially available here in the Philippines.  So yeah, you can now pre-order the iPhone X at Kimstore starting at Php69,000 for the 64GB variant and Php79,000 for the 256GB variant. The Razer Phone is actually just a basic flagship smartphone. Yes, you got a powerful Snapdragon 835 processor with 8GB of RAM inside and also a 120Hz display inside. Well, honestly, you can find that hardware on other smartphones.

The 120Hz Display isn’t really a biggie for me as apps and games are only capped at 30fps or 60fps depending on the game. But yeah, it’s nice to see a front-facing speaker on the Razer Phone.

OPPO F5 Hands-On & First Impressions

The OPPO F5 is the latest smartphone from the Selfie-centric company. It is the biggest design change made by the company that they made on a smartphone as the OPPO F5 has ditched their home button in favor of a new design with an all-screen display on the front with minimal bezels. So what do I think about the smartphone? Check out our first impressions of the smartphone below.

The OPPO F5 is made up of plastic which has a similar feel to most smartphones from OPPO. But the OPPO F5 feels good to the hand despite its plastic build and because of its build, the smartphone is very light. Since there’s an 18:9 display aspect ratio on the OPPO F5, the smartphone feels easy to hold despite its large 6-inch display. Why? because the smartphone is narrower but this time it’s taller. However, it’s still too big in my hand.

 

The display of the smartphone is great. It features a 6-inch display with Full HD+ resolution and yes, the colors and the display of the smartphone was quite great. The bezels are also thin which makes the smartphone look sexy and beautiful.

One of the biggest features of the OPPO F5 is its face unlock. Surprisingly, the Face Unlock of the OPPO F5 is fast and it is really good. I actually use the Face unlock of the smartphone even more than the fingerprint scanner of the smartphone. However, you’ll have to use the fingerprint scanner of the smartphone if there’s no decent light to recognize your face.

The camera of the smartphone with A.I. Beautification is probably its biggest feature. The front camera of the smartphone is really good and it’s probably the best front camera smartphone that I’ve tried. The A.I. Beautification really works and this time, it feels more natural and better than most smartphones that I’ve tried. The rear camera of the smartphone isn’t disappointing too as it can take really good photos even at lowlight thanks to the f/1.8 aperture.
