Samsung Galaxy Note8 Quick Review

Samsung has just unveiled their newest flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Note8. It packs a lot of new features including a dual lens rear camera which is a first in Samsung’s flagship. It’s also their biggest flagship smartphone as the Galaxy Note 8 will pack a 6.3-inch QHD+ display.

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 still packs an Exynos processor for the Philippine variant and it will also have a 6GB of RAM inside and 64GB expandable storage. One of the biggest unique selling points of the Samsung Galaxy Note8 is its camera because it will pack a dual 12MP camera that is capable of 2x zooming and it is also the world’s first smartphone with dual OIS.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will also have Bixby and Bixby Voice which is voice assistant similar to Google Now and Siri. In Bixby Voice, you’ll be able to command your smartphone and eventually, Bixby will get better as you use it every time.

The S-Pen of the Samsung Galaxy Note8 will be even smarter with its new features. Oh and another thing, the Samsung Galaxy Note8 will also have a new feature called live messages which let you hate animated drawings that you can share with your friends.

Samsung Galaxy Note8’s camera is definitely one of the best in the market. It has a dual 12-Megapixel camera. The camera consists of a main 12-megapixel camera with f/1.7 aperture while the other one is the telephoto 12-megapixel camera and it lets you do 2x optical zoom.

The camera of the smartphone also features live focus in where you can have a background blur or bokeh shots. The bokeh shots that I got were pretty amazing and on point. Actually, the camera of the Samsung Galaxy Note8 is one of the best in the industry. Check out the shots that I took using the smartphone:

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 will be available in Midnight Black and Maple gold and you can pre-order starting from September 8 up to September 17 and it will come with a free AKG Speaker. The price? Well, it’s a little bit steep at P49,990. You can pre-order the Samsung Galaxy Note8 at Smart, Lazada, Argomall, Abenson, and at Samsung Experience Stores.

ASUS ROG Strix GL503 Launched in the Philippines

ASUS has just launched their newest laptop at the ROG Masters Philippine Finals 2017 at SM North EDSA Annex. We first saw the the ASUS ROG Strix GL503 at Computex last May and it’s a big design change from the previous ASUS ROG devices as this one now features a more minimal colors with a half slice and ROG logo on lid of the laptop. The laptop will also feature a RGB keyboard.

The ROG Strix GL503 will come with an Intel Core i7-7700HQ Processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB HDD, 128GB SSD, and a GTX 1050 4GB DDR5 GPU. It will retail for P69,995.

The ROG Strix GL503 will also come with a 120Hz IPS display which means that you can have a smoother and better framerates without tearing on the display.

Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition Announced for Smartphones

Yesterday we saw the Final Fantasy XV for Windows and today, here’s another big surprise to all of us from Square Enix at Gamescon. Yes, Final Fantasy XV is coming to the palm of our hand in the form of Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition. No, this isn’t your crappy mobile game because Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition will feature the story of the original game in an episodic release.

But of course, since this is the mobile version of Final Fantasy XV, expect a tone down graphics compared to the console version. The game will feature chibi characters along with a new cartoonish design and graphics.

While we’re not sure how they’ll bring in the battle gameplay, features, and experience of the console version to the mobile version but expect that the Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition will have touch-optimized controls and yes, cooking with Ignis.

Final Fantasy XV will be available with one free episode while the remaining nine episodes will be sold at a price.

The Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition will be available for iOS, Android, & Windows 10 this Autumn 2017 (September-October).

Xiaomi has just launched a new smartphone today and it’s the affordable Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A. The smartphone will not have a very powerful hardware inside but it does have a capable processor and a 16-megapixel front camera that can really attract consumers who are into the selfie game.

Android O is now Android Oreo

Google has finally made it official. They’ve finally announced that the official name of Android O is Android Oreo. And of course, a new operating system from Google means that there will be new features.

Some of the new features that you can expect from Android Oreo are the better notifications, new emojis, a smarter and better copy and paste in where it features more functions, picture-in-picture for videos, Autofill, and more.

Android 8.0 Oreo is expected to arrive in our devices soon but expect that this OS will first land in Google’s Pixel before arriving in other devices.

Final Fantasy XV Arriving to PC in Early 2018

Square Enix has finally announced that the widely successful Final Fantasy XV will be available to PCs soon. Since the game will be available in the PC master race, the game will have better graphics and of course, there will be bonus contents that will be included in the game. If you think that the graphics of Final Fantasy XV is already amazing on the PS4 Pro then think again because in the Windows Edition of Final Fantasy XV.

Final Fantasy XV will have a more realistic grass simulation thanks to Nvidia TurfEffects, better hair with HairWorks, and much more. But do you know the best part? Well, the Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition will also come with a First Person Camera Mode!

Too bad there’s no support for VR yet but it will be interesting to see one on Final Fantasy XV as the game has a really rich and beautiful environment.

The game’s recommended specifications are too high as Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition has the following recommended specs:

ASUS Zenfone 3 Series Smartphones will be upgraded to Android O

One of the announcements that they confirmed in their recent launch of the ASUS Zenfone 4 is that all of the smartphones in the ASUS Zenfone 3 series will get an upgrade to ZenUI 4.0. Not just that because all of these smartphones that belong in the Zenfone 3 Series will also be getting Android O upgrade soon and in case you didn’t know, Android O isn’t available yet and as of this posting, there’s no official name yet for Google’s newest operating system.

In ZenUI 4.0, expect that the smartphone would have less clutter as most of the bloatware in the smartphone will finally be purged and removed from the smartphone and not just that, the ASUS ZenUI 4.0 will also be faster as applications will load faster including Facebook which is 61.07% faster than the previous ZenUI 3.0. ASUS even claims that the ZenUI 4.0 will be one of the snappiest UI in the market.

The ASUS ZenUI 4.0 is now available for the ASUS Zenfone 4 Series while the upgrade to Android O for both Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 3 series hasn’t been announced yet.

ASUS launches the Zenfone 4 Series in the Philippines

ASUS Philippines has just launched the Zenfone 4 series in the country and yes, it’s a one-time big-time launch as the Taiwanese company has just launched all of the ASUS Zenfone 4 variants in the Philippines. The most affordable of them all is the ASUS Zenfone 4 Max which was the first smartphone in the Zenfone 4 series to be unveiled while their newest flagship is the ASUS Zenfone 4 Pro which packs the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with dual lens camera

The smartphone packs a dual lens camera and also a pretty big 5000mAh battery but inside the smartphone is a Snapdragon 430 processor. The smartphone also comes with 3GB of RAM and also a 32GB of Internal Storage which is pretty good already.

After a year of MIA, the Zenfone Selfie is now back in the Zenfone 4 series but this time, ASUS has launched two Selfie smartphones — the ASUS Zenfone Selfie and Selfie Pro. Both smartphones pack a dual front camera but the ASUS Zenfone Selfie Pro has a better front camera setup as this one packs a 24MP+5MP compared to the Zenfone 4 Selfie’s 20MP+8MP Dual Front Camera. The ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie will also run on Snapdragon 430 with HD display while the Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro will run on Snapdragon 625 with Full HD display.

The ASUS Zenfone 4 will pack a Snapdragon 660 processor and it will have a 5.5-inch AMOLED display along with 4GB of RAM and a dual camera setup consisting of a 12MP primary camera and 8MP wide-angle camera while the ASUS Zenfone 4 Pro will be the company’s flagship smartphone as this packs a Snapdragon 835 processor along with 6GB of RAM and a dual camera setup consisting of 12MP+16MP Rear Camera with 2x Optical zoom.
