Free Windows 10 upgrade ends today

For those who are still using Windows 7 and 8, today is your last chance to upgrade to the best Windows operating system for free. If you can still remember, Microsoft made it clear last year that the upgrade to Windows 10 will be available for free for 1 year and today is be last day to upgrade your systems.

 

Windows 10 is better whether you’re using a touch or a mouse & keyboard as an input as this operating system can adapt to your current system. Not only that, Microsoft will also be releasing the anniversary update on August 2 which will give you more features and a more secure operating system.

Playstation VR will be available this October for Php 22,990

Sony has just announced today at PlayStation VR Asia Conference that the PlayStation VR or the PS VR will be available on October 13, 2016, in the Philippines and it will have a reasonable SRP of P22,900 while the PlayStation VR and Playstation Camera bundle will be available too in the country for P25,290.

 

Pre-order of Playstation VR will start this July 30, 2016, and it will be available at selected Sony Centers and Playstation Authorized dealers.

Aside from the Mi Notebook Air, Xiaomi has also announced their newest smartphone that will pack the latest and the best processor from MediaTek, the Helio X25 processor and it’s the Xiaomi Redmi Pro. It’s the new flagship phone of the Redmi line and it also packs some surprises.

 

Aside from using the Helio X25 processor, the Xiaomi Redmi Pro also packs a dual camera along with the dedicated depth of field image processor that lets you have better bokeh shots. The 13-megapixel Sony IMX 258 processor lets you capture still images while the 5-megapixel Samsung camera lets you capture depth information.

Xiaomi has just announced their newest device today and no, this is not a phone and instead, it’s a notebook that is set to compete against the Macbook Air. The Mi Notebook Air 13.3 is not just a normal notebook that is trying to compete against a Macbook because this one got a more powerful hardware

Both notebooks packed an interesting hardware for its price. The Mi Notebook Air 13.3 is priced at RMB 4999 which is around P35,370 when converted directly while the Mi Notebook Air 12.5 is priced at RMB 3499 which is converted directly to P24,755.

Interesting devices but I doubt that it will arrive here in the Philippines and if it does land here on gray markets, I’m pretty sure that these devices would be priced higher than the SRP

Lenovo Philippines has just launched their newest smartphones, the Lenovo Vibe K5 series. There are three smartphones in the series and actually, two of them are made for VR. There’s the Lenovo Vibe K5 and then we have the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus and Vibe K5 Note which are optimized for VR. Just like its predecessor, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus and the Vibe K5 Note comes with a VR headset and Theatermax controller that is made for VR.

All of the smartphones will have a metal build that’s why they all have a premium feel. All of the smartphones OS will be running on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box but it will eventually be upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow this quarter.

 

The Vibe K5 is running on a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 processor while the K5 Plus is running on a faster Snapdragon 616 processor with 3GB of RAM. Also, the K5 Plus supports VR mode. The Vibe K5 Note, however, is a bigger smartphone with a different hardware but it is more powerful with an Helio processor and it comes with a fingerprint sensor.

Noticeably, all of these smartphones are quite thick but they have a reasonable battery inside especially the K5 Note.

 

The Lenovo Vibe K5 retails for P6,999 and it will have a free screen protector while the Vibe K5 Plus retails for P8,999 while the Vibe K5 Note retails for P11,999 and both smartphones come with a VR headset, TheaterMax Controller, Clear Case and Screen protector.

Blackberry seems to be happy with their transition to Android as they announced their newest smartphone that runs Android, the Blackberry DTEk50. I know, the smartphone’s name seems kinda different. And if you think that the smartphone looks familiar, well, the DTEK50 is similar to the Alcatel IDOL 4 except that this one is more secure and it has a Blackberry logo in it.
