ASUS is very aggressive in all segments this year and this time, they’ll be joining the enterprise market with their ASUSPro devices. In case you didn’t know, Enterprise is a big m    arket and their main customers in this segment are companies and working professionals.

 

So what does these ASUSPro devices do that other devices can’t? Well, there are a lot of features that the ASUSPro devices can offer including business and service solutions for small and medium businesses. So how about the devices? Apple iPad Pro is coming to the country very soon and yes! The official prices of the iPad Pro and its accessories are now out. So if you don’t have any idea about the Apple iPad Pro, this is the titan tablet of Apple and it is even bigger than the new Macbook. This tablet aims to compete against the very popular Surface Pro 4 and it aims to blur the lines between the laptops and tablet.

 

Despite having the status as the tablet for professionals due to the availability of Apple Pencil and its big display, this one uses iOS instead of the OS X that’s why you’ll still be limited using this tablet. There are also some Adobe apps that are available on the iPad Pro with the support of Apple Pencil, however, these apps are not on par with the desktop counterparts.

A few weeks ago, I’ve shared with you an app called Shopee in my blog, it’s the newest mobile marketplace app to hit the country and, of course, I’ve given Shopee a try. You can try out Shopee via their app which are available on the Play Store and the App Store. Shopee is really designed for mobile, the interface is really user-friendly and it is really easy to navigate and understand at first use.

Whether you’re planning on buying and selling items, Shopee is the app for you because the newly updated Shopee not only offers different categories now, but you can also search for items using hashtags. Plus, the process for buying and selling is really fast.

So recently, I went back to my man cave and checked out the things that I can sell at Shopee.  I immediately took some photos of these products that I will sell at Shopee. Actually, you can even import photos from your gallery or Instagram and use those picture to sell your items on Shopee.

One of the tips that I can give you when you’re selling an item is to make your product photos attractive, so that buyers will notice your listing on Shopee. The app has a built-in cropping tool and filters to make sure that you have awesome photos of the products that you’re selling. After editing your photos on Shopee, you now have to fill in the required information and that’s it! Your listing is now posted on Shopee and you will be prompted if you want to share it online .

 

One of the things that I like at Shopee is that you’re guaranteed that you’ll receive your payment if you’re a seller, and you’ll be sure that you’ll receive the payment if you’re a buyer.  Their listings are pretty awesome

We all know that Cherry Mobile is the leader of smartphones and different electronic products in the country but here’s an unexpected move from the company. Cherry Mobile has recently announced that they’ll have their own prepaid service and it wil be called as Cherry Prepaid.

 

But unlike other networks, Cherry Prepaid won’t rely on their own infrastracture and equipment but this time, they’ll rely on Globe for the backend of Cherry Prepaid. But of course, this will be different from Globe and it will be entirely controlled by Cherry Mobile.

 

And since they have a different brand from the backend network, the prepaid offering is different and it will offer different promos and services and Globe users won’t be able to pass load to Cherry prepaid users and Cherry Prepaid users can’t use the promos use by Globe. Subscribers.

 

Loading of Cherry prepaid can be either load cards or from Cherry stores and kiosks and autoload retailers. Here are the promos that is offered by Cherry Prepaid:

 

Aside from having their own promos, Cherry Mobile is also offering phones along with their Cherry Prepaid sim cards. They’re bundling the Cherry Mobile CP1 Barphone for P399, Cherry Mobile Astro for P999 Big Time Bundle, and P1699 Partner Bundle for the Cherry Mobile Comet and Cherry Mobile CP2 Bar phone. My experience with the 1Gbps PLDT HOME Fibr

Recently, PLDT has announced that they’ll be having a 1Gbps broadband plan for their users and yes, there are already some people who already upgraded to this and are using the 1 Gbps broadband plan on their homes and fortunately, we’re one of those people who got to try this awesome offering from PLDT Home Fibr.

 

And if you’ve followed the plans and offerings of PLDT, they’re offering not only a fast internet on their plans but they also offer different devices that could make your home smarter such as FAM CAM device which lets you monitor your home and it is controlled with a Telpad, an all-in-one landline, broadband, and tablet of PLDT. And take note guys, this Telpad is running on Android and you can run different Android apps and games on this one like Clash of Clans.

 

But not just that, PLDT also offers a Tvolution stick which will transform your HDMI-capable TV into a Windows computer. This Tvolution is base on an Intel Compute stick and if you want to run some Windows games and applications on it like Microsoft Office, you could do that because this one is running on an Intel Atom processor which was also used by some tablets and convertible laptops. During the event, we were able to experience the 1GBps speeds of PLDT HOME Fibr. I wasn’t able to maximize the full 1GBps speeds due to the limitations of my devices and the number of people connected on the internet but despite that, we still experience no bufferings on YouTube while the others have been livestreaming videos and the others are download games on Steam. Actually, they were able to download Call of Duty: Black Ops III which is sized around 47GB in under 17 minutes. That’s effin amazing.

 

PLDT HOME Fibr is already available in some areas including Valle Vergde 1-6, Forbes Park, Dasmarinas Village, and Ayala Alabang village. There are also other locations that support PLDT HOME Fibr and you can check that out at pldthome.com/fibr.

Apple has long invaded the living room with their Apple TV but this year, they’ve revamped the Apple TV and they now introduced new remote control with touchpad and accelerometer that doubles as a controller too for games. The Apple TV is now powered by an A8 processor and it is now running on TV OS which was based of iOS. Another big feature of the new Apple TV is the App store, this time, the new Apple TV now supports games and applications and actually, there are already some games like Asphalt 8, Transistor, and Rayman Adventures.

Asus Zenpad S 8.0 Review  

The ASUS Zenfone series have become widely popular in the county thanks to its powerful specs yet, still sports a price that everyone can afford. And recently, they have brought the very popular Zen brand to the tablets and they named these tablets as the Zenpads and today, we’re gonna review the most powerful and most beautiful Zenpad, the ASUS Zenpad S 8.0

Design and Hardware

If you’ve read my review of the ASUS Zenpad 7.0, the design is very similar except that this one is thinner and it packs a better materials and hardware. Yes, it is still plastic but this one has a better feel and it looks better than its Zenpad brothers because of its chamfered edges on the back. However, the back can’t be removed and there are no sim card slots on this tablet.

It might not have the same full metal unibody of he iPad but this tablet is the thinnest 8-inch WiFi tablet and that is something that you can really appreciate. ASUS has also went into the more fashionable design that is able to fit for all lifestyle in the ASUS Zenpad S 8.0.

Inside, the tablet is similar to the ASUS Zenfone 2 ZE551ML. There’s the Quad-Core Intel Atom Z3580 processor and 4GB of RAM. The Intel Atom processor inside it might not be the best in gaming but it can surely handle most tasks and games on the tablet. Besides, the 4GB of RAM is really something in this tablet because it really helps in multitasking and it avoids the lags and slowdowns in the tablet.

The ASUS Zenpad S 8.0 comes with a flip cover and compliments the fashionable design of the tablet. The cover looks like a clutch bag and it houses the Zenpad. There are also pockets not only for the tablet but also some calling cards and if you have a Z stylus, you can also house it there. But unfortunately, the Z stylus isn’t available yet.

Unlike other tablets, the ASUS Zenpad S 8.0 also comes with USB Type-C. So what is so special about it and why should we like it over the good ol MicroUSB that we’ve been using for a long time. Well guys, the ASUS Zenpad S 8.0’s USB Type C is not only future proof but they’re also reversible just like the lightning connector of the iPhones and iPads. It also features a faster data transfer compared to its Micro USB brothers.

 

There’s a sizeable 64GB of Internal storage on the ASUS Zenpad S 8.0. For most people, this amount of storage is already more than what they need and in case you need to transfer files from other devices that are saved on the MicroSD card, I’m happy to announce to you guys that this tablet comes with a MicroSD card slot. And if you’re really into media files, there are dual front facing speakers on the ASUS Zenpad S 8.0, which gives you a more dramatic, and more realistic experience when you’re watching movies however, I felt that the speaker isn’t loud as I expected however, I was happy that the speakers were crisp and clear.

The ASUS Zenpad S 8.0 also features a Pixelmaster camera on both front and back however, the camera performance is not on par with the camera on the ASUS Zenfone 2 but I noticed that the tablet can still capture brighter images even at lowlight however it’s a little bit grainy. At well-lit conditions, the tablet’s camera performs just okay for a tablet.

 

Display 

 

ASUS went for the 4:3 ratio for the ASUS Zenpad S 8.0 instead of the typical 16:9. If you don’t have any idea about it, the 4:3 displays are like the iPads, instead of having a taller and wider display in portrait, they look more squarish. However, when you’re watching movies, you might notice that the most movies aren’t on full screen, which is a disadvantage of having a 4:3 display.

However, browsing the Internet and reading ebooks are very ideal on the ASUS Zenpad S 8.0 because of its 4:3 ratio. One of the things that you might also like with its display is that the resolution is sweet. It’s an 8-inch 2k Display and ASUS has this feature called VisualMaster, which gives you really, smooth videos and even at some games.

 

Software

 

The user interface is ZenUI. It’s ASUS’ own user interface for their Android devices. It’s fast and the colors were really vivid and lively to the eyes. Thanks to its processing power and ZenUI, the ASUS Zenpad S 8.0 is really fast and responsive. Unlike other tablets, the ASUS Zenpad S 8.0 is so far one of the fastest on an Android tablet

However, the ASUS Zenpad S 8.0 also packs a lot of apps inside. There are a lot of bloatwares and apps preinstalled on the device. But of course, there are still some useful apps that are preinstalled on the tablet. Some of its very useful applications are PC Link and Share Link. They are very useful especially when transferring files to other devices and mirroring your device to your PC.

Yes, the Quad-Core Intel Atom Z3580 processor is powerful. There’s 4GB of RAM and if you’ve seen my review of the ASUS Zenfone 2 before, you would probably know how powerful the ASUS Zenpad S 8.0 is. Most apps and games would run smoothly and flawless however, I still notice there are still some games and applications that aren’t really fuly compatible with the processor like NBA 2k16 that doesn’t run on the tablet well.

No doubt, the ASUS Zenpad S 8.0 is one of the best Android tablets out there. The price is reasonable too for its hardware and I was very happy that this one comes with a flip cover that looks very fashionable and has a good material. Overall, this is a tablet that is really good whether you love playing games, reading books, browsing the web or even watching a movie. This might not be the most powerful Android tablet out there but this one has definitely become my most favorite Android tablet.
