HONOR 600 Review

The smartphone market has reached a point where good cameras are no longer exclusive to flagship devices. However, finding a phone that not only takes great photos but also helps you create content faster is still relatively rare. That’s where the HONOR 600 tries to carve out its own space.

At first glance, it looks like another upper midrange smartphone with a large battery, a high-resolution camera, and a capable processor. But after spending time with the device, it becomes clear that HONOR is targeting a different type of user this time around.

The HONOR 600 is built for people who constantly document their lives. Whether it’s travel photos, café visits, concerts, selfies with friends, or creating content for TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, this phone puts a strong emphasis on photography and AI-assisted creativity.

Of course, the viral AI Image-to-Video feature gets most of the attention. However, after using the phone for several weeks, we found that the HONOR 600 has a lot more going for it than a single AI trick.

HONOR 600 Review: Design

The HONOR 600 feels surprisingly refined the moment you pick it up.

Despite housing a massive 7,000mAh battery, the device doesn’t feel oversized. In fact, our team often forgot it was carrying one of the biggest batteries in its class because the weight distribution is handled so well.

The curved edges make the phone comfortable to hold during long social media sessions, while the slim profile helps it slide easily into pockets and small bags.

Meanwhile, the rear design feels modern without trying too hard to stand out. The camera island is noticeable but not overwhelming, and the matte finish does a good job of resisting fingerprints throughout the day.

One detail we appreciated was the dedicated AI button. While it may remind some users of similar buttons found on another flagship devices, it serves as a shortcut to the camera and various AI-powered features. We ended up using it frequently when taking quick photos or testing the phone’s Image-to-Video functionality.

HONOR also includes IP68 and IP69 ratings, which add a welcome layer of protection. For young adults who spend a lot of time outdoors, travel frequently, or simply want extra peace of mind, this level of durability is a nice bonus.

HONOR 600 Review: Display

The display is easily one of the phone’s strongest features.

The HONOR 600 comes with a 6.55-inch AMOLED panel with a sharp 2736 x 1264 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. In daily use, everything looks crisp and vibrant.

Scrolling through TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts feels incredibly smooth, while photos appear detailed and punchy without looking overly saturated.

The slim bezels also help create a more immersive viewing experience. Watching Netflix, YouTube videos, and even editing content for social media feels enjoyable because the screen simply looks good.

Brightness is another area where the display performs well. Even when we were outdoors shooting photos or checking notifications under direct sunlight, visibility remained excellent.

Additionally, HONOR includes several eye-comfort technologies that make long scrolling sessions easier on the eyes. While these aren’t features you’ll notice immediately, they become more noticeable during late-night browsing or extended content editing sessions.

HONOR 600 Review: Software and Performance

Powering the HONOR 600 is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor.

While this isn’t a flagship chipset, it delivers exactly what most users need. Throughout our review, the phone remained responsive whether we were switching between apps, editing photos, uploading content, or managing multiple social media accounts simultaneously.

Day-to-day performance feels polished and reliable.

Apps launch quickly, multitasking is smooth, and animations throughout MagicOS 10 feel fluid. More importantly, the software doesn’t get in the way of the experience.

Gaming performance is also respectable. Popular titles such as Mobile Legends run comfortably on medium to high settings. While hardcore mobile gamers may still prefer flagship processors, most users will find more than enough performance here.

MagicOS 10, based on Android 16, feels cleaner than previous versions we’ve used. The interface is straightforward, customization options are plentiful, and ecosystem features like HONOR Connect make file transfers between devices much more convenient.

However, it’s the AI tools that take center stage.

Beyond the usual AI editing features, HONOR includes tools for object removal, image enhancement, and content generation. These aren’t necessarily features you’ll use every day, but they add value for people who regularly create content directly from their phones.

HONOR 600 Review: Camera

The camera system is undoubtedly the reason many people will consider the HONOR 600.

The phone is equipped with a 200MP primary camera, accompanied by an ultra-wide sensor and a high-resolution selfie camera. On paper, those specifications already sound impressive. Fortunately, the real-world results largely live up to expectations.

During daylight, the main camera consistently produces sharp and detailed images. Colors look natural, dynamic range is balanced, and photos generally avoid the over-processed look that many midrange phones still struggle with.

This becomes especially important for social media users.

Photos often look good enough to post immediately without spending extra time editing. Skin tones appear realistic, and HONOR’s image processing doesn’t aggressively sharpen every detail.

Portrait photography is another strong point. Subjects remain well separated from backgrounds, while edge detection performs surprisingly well in most scenarios.

At night, the camera continues to impress. Images retain good detail, highlights are controlled reasonably well, and optical image stabilization helps reduce blur when shooting handheld.

The selfie camera deserves special mention.

For content creators and social media enthusiasts, this is one of the better front-facing cameras we’ve tested in this category. Selfies are detailed, colors remain natural, and indoor performance is consistently reliable.

Video quality is also solid for everyday content creation. Whether you’re filming short clips for TikTok, recording stories, or creating travel content, the HONOR 600 delivers results that most users will be happy sharing online.

Then there’s the AI Image-to-Video 2.0 feature. Watch some of our videos here.

This is easily the most talked-about feature on the phone, and understandably so. The tool allows users to transform still photos into short animated clips using AI.

Some results can be genuinely impressive.

Sample Photos:

Travel photos suddenly gain movement. Portraits feel more alive. Old memories take on a new dimension. When it works well, the effect can be surprisingly emotional and engaging.

That said, it’s not perfect. Results can vary depending on the photos used, and some generated clips look better than others. Nevertheless, it’s one of the more interesting AI features we’ve seen recently because it offers something creative rather than purely functional.

For users who spend a lot of time creating content for social platforms, this feature alone can be a lot of fun.

HONOR 600 Review: Battery

The HONOR 600’s 7,000mAh battery is a major highlight.

Simply put, battery anxiety disappears with this phone.

Even on days when we spent hours taking photos, recording videos, editing content, browsing social media, and using AI tools, the device comfortably lasted until bedtime with battery remaining.

For lighter users, stretching into a second day is entirely realistic.

What’s even more impressive is that HONOR achieved this without making the phone feel excessively thick or heavy.

Meanwhile, 80W fast charging helps offset the large battery size. A quick top-up before heading out is often enough to keep the phone running for the rest of the day.

Verdict

The HONOR 600 succeeds because it understands how many young smartphone users actually use their devices today.

Most people aren’t editing 8K videos or chasing benchmark scores. They’re taking photos, sharing memories, creating content, scrolling through social media, and staying connected with friends.

That’s exactly where the HONOR 600 shines.

The cameras are reliable, the display is excellent, battery life is among the best in its class, and the AI Image-to-Video feature adds a creative twist that genuinely feels different from what competitors are offering.

More importantly, it doesn’t feel like a phone built around a gimmick.

The AI tools may grab headlines, but it’s the overall experience that makes the HONOR 600 easy to recommend.

If you’re active on social media, enjoy photography, and want a smartphone that helps you create content while lasting all day, the HONOR 600 is one of the more compelling options currently available in its segment.
