Razer is definitely one of the premium brands out there as they are even dubbed as the “Apple of Gaming.” Their peripherals and gaming laptops are very popular amongst enthusiasts thanks to their unbeaten aesthetics and killer Razer Chroma RGB lighting. Their venture towards the smartphone industry has been a love-hate relationship so far. The Razer Phone is one of the first smartphones to sport a high refresh-rate display, albeit IGZO panel rather than OLED. And was quickly overshadowed and overthrown by the ASUS ROG Phone which sported a better high refresh-rate display with gamer-centric accessories. This resulted in Razer slashing the price of their gaming smartphone. Fast forward to 2019 and the Razer Phone 2 is now on sale just in time for Black Friday.
Our friends from Kanto Tech spotted an Amazon listing of the Razer Phone 2 for only Php 16,133 from the original list price of Php 43,023. The model on sale is the Satin Black color and an 8GB/64GB storage configuration. There’s an extra cost of Php 3,480 that accounts for the shipping fee and customs taxes. There’s customs involved because the Razer Phone 2 exceeds the Php 10,000 free tax limit. The total price of Php 19,613 is till a good bargain considering that grey market sellers in the Philippines offer the Razer 2 Smartphone for an average of Php 30,000.
