HUAWEI has officially launched its latest flagship smartphone lineup in China, led by the flagship Huawei Mate 90 Pro alongside the standard Mate 90.
Both devices introduce substantial upgrades in display, silicon, camera sensors, and battery longevity while pushing durability with dual IP68 and IP69K ratings.

HUAWEI Mate 90 Pro Debuts Industry-First 12,000-Nit Dual-Layer OLED Display
The HUAWEI Mate 90 Pro comes with a 6.75-inch LTPO OLED screen featuring 1280p+ resolution and an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate. Its breakthrough is a dual-layer tandem OLED panel capable of reaching a 12,000 nits of peak brightness.
The display is shielded by third-generation Kunlun glass and supports wet-hand touch tracking. The phone combines a sturdy metal mid-frame with a nylon fiber backplate and holds both IP68 and IP69K certifications against high-pressure hot water jets.

Kirin 9035 Silicon Brings Hardware Ray Tracing and Satellite Messaging
Under the hood, the Mate 90 Pro runs on Huawei’s newly announced Kirin 9035 chipset, delivering a 20 percent performance uplift over its direct predecessor. The accompanying GPU supports dedicated hardware ray tracing capable of rendering 31 million rays per second.
Buyers can configure the handset with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM, paired with up to 1TB of onboard storage. Cellular connectivity is complemented by eSIM capability and two-way Beidou satellite messaging for off-grid text and image transmission.
6,600mAh Battery with 100W SuperCharge and IP69K Water Defense
Both models see a major battery leap to a 6,600mAh cell, providing up to 41 hours of continuous video playback on a single charge. The Pro supports 100W wired SuperCharge and 50W wireless charging, along with 18W reverse wired power sharing.
Meanwhile, the standard Mate 90 features identical 6,600mAh battery endurance but scales wired fast charging down to 66W while maintaining 50W wireless support.

Upgraded 50MP Periscope Telephoto Camera and HarmonyOS 7 Intelligence
Photography remains a central pillar of the series. The Mate 90 Pro packs a 50MP RYYB main sensor with a variable f/1.4-f/4.0 aperture and optical stabilization, joined by a 40MP ultra-wide and an upgraded 50MP 4x periscope telephoto lens with 5cm telemacro capabilities.
The standard Mate 90 also receives a massive telephoto upgrade, replacing the old 12MP zoom unit with a new 50MP RYYB 4x optical sensor. Both devices boot HarmonyOS 7 out of the box, offering proximity file transfers and intelligent hand-grip orientation detection.
