HUAWEI has officially unveiled the HUAWEI Pura 90 Plus in China, expanding its photography-focused smartphone series. It is positioned neatly between the baseline Pura 90 and the higher-tier Pura 90 Pro.
50MP 1-Inch Variable Aperture Sensor and 4x Macro Telephoto
The headline feature of the HUAWEI Pura 90 Plus is its 50MP 1-inch type primary camera sensor.
The main shooter pairs with a physical variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0, allowing photographers to control depth of field and light intake.
Complementing the main camera is a 48MP telephoto camera with an f/2.1 aperture, supporting up to 4x optical zoom while pulling double duty as a close-range macro lens.
Also, there’s a 40MP ultra-wide lens with a 13mm equivalent focal length for wide landscape shots.
Overhauled Kirin 9025 Silicon and HarmonyOS 7 Software
Powering the smartphone is HUAWEI’s new Kirin 9025 processor, which delivers an estimated 20 percent performance bump compared to the previous-generation Kirin 9020.
The chipset is matched with 12GB of RAM and storage choices spanning 256GB, 512GB, and a spacious 1TB tier.
The device boots HarmonyOS 7, integrating HUAWEI’s upgraded Celia conversational AI assistant. For outdoor exploration and emergency communication off the grid, the device also includes built-in two-way satellite connectivity.
6.8-Inch 120Hz LTPO OLED Display and IP68/69 Durability
Up front, the HUAWEI Pura 90 Plus carries a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED screen sporting a sharp 2848 x 1276 resolution and an adaptive 1 to 120Hz refresh rate.
Second-generation Kunlun Glass shields the display against drops and scratches, while a centered punch-hole houses a 13MP front selfie camera.
The chassis blends the comfortable rounded contours of the earlier Pura 80 Pro with dual IP68 and IP69 water and dust ingress resistance against high-temperature water jets.
5,700mAh Battery with 100W Charging, Pricing, and Availability
Keeping the hardware powered is a large 5,700mAh battery that supports 100W wired SuperCharge and rapid 80W wireless charging speeds.
The HUAWEI Pura 90 Plus is offered in four colors: Sunset Purple, Dawn Gold, Snow White, and Obsidian Black.
In China, pricing kicks off at CNY 5,499 (approximately $825 USD) for the 12GB + 256GB baseline configuration, reaching CNY 6,999 (around $1,050 USD) for the top 1TB model.
Open sales across Chinese retailers commence on October 31, 2026, with international release details expected in the coming months.
