Apple has officially announced the all-new MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display, introducing tandem OLED technology and touchscreen display to the Mac for the very first time.
Available in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, the refreshed flagship lineup pairs new display features with M5 Pro and M5 Max processors.

PROLED XDR Display with Tandem OLED and 2000 Nits Brightness
The centerpiece of the new laptop is Apple’s custom-engineered PROLED XDR display, which utilizes a dual-layer tandem OLED panel. The same technology you can find on iPad Pro’s displays.
By stacking two self-illuminating emission layers, the display achieves an astounding 2000 nits of peak HDR and SDR brightness without backlight blooming or haloing.
A 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio reveals subtle details in deep shadows, while broad color coverage spans both DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB color gamuts.
ProMotion technology supports variable refresh rates from 10Hz to 120Hz, providing fluid motion graphics while conserving energy on static content.

Touch Controls and Dynamic Island Debut on the Mac
Breaking long-standing hardware conventions, the MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display adds full multi-touch capability across the entire screen.
Creatives can now directly paint on canvases in Pixelmator Pro, manipulate 3D wireframes in Cinema 4D, or play virtual instruments onscreen.
To support touch interactions comfortably, Apple re-engineered the display hinge for maximum rigidity, adding camera feed stabilization to cancel minor screen vibration during video calls.
In addition, the Dynamic Island makes its debut on macOS, housing Spotlight search, real-time Live Activities, and Siri AI conversational assistance.

Apple M5 Pro and M5 Max Silicon with On-Device AI Acceleration
Under the chassis, the machines are driven by Apple’s latest M5 Pro and M5 Max processors built on 2nm architecture.
Each GPU core incorporates a dedicated Neural Accelerator, enabling software developers and creators to run on-device large language models with hundreds of billions of parameters.
The GPUs feature third-generation hardware ray tracing and enhanced shader cores, delivering massive performance boosts in Blender, Unreal Engine, and demanding AAA titles.
Configurable with up to 128GB of unified memory and up to 16TB of internal SSD storage, the machines handle extreme 8K ProRes video workflows.

Thinner Chassis, 24-Hour Battery Life, and Connectivity
Despite adding tandem OLED panels and touch digitizers, Apple shaved down the chassis, bringing the 14-inch model to 3 pounds and the 16-inch model to 4 pounds.
Battery life reaches up to an unprecedented 24 hours on a single charge, setting a new mobility record for professional workstations.
An upgraded six-speaker audio system delivers 50 percent deeper bass, while dedicated tuning preserves high-fidelity sound even when operated in closed-lid clamshell mode.

Physical ports include Thunderbolt 5, HDMI, an SDXC memory card slot, MagSafe 3 charging, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.
