Microsoft has officially opened Canadian pre-orders for the Surface Laptop Ultra. This makes it the company’s most powerful laptop built for creators, developers, and especially AI engineers.
Priced starting at CAD 3,899.99, the new 15-inch laptoop is built around NVIDIA’s RTX Spark platform to execute artificial intelligence models directly on device.

NVIDIA RTX Spark Superchip with Blackwell GPU and Grace CPU
At the heart of the Surface Laptop Ultra sits the NVIDIA RTX Spark Superchip, combining an NVIDIA Grace CPU with up to 20 cores and an NVIDIA Blackwell RTX GPU packing up to 6,144 cores.
The system supports up to 128GB of unified memory and delivers up to 1 petaflop of AI compute, allowing users to run large language models exceeding 120 billion parameters locally without cloud dependencies.

To sustain peak performance under heavy rendering and local AI workloads, Microsoft implemented a revamped thermal architecture offering 2.5 times more thermal capacity than previous Surface Laptops.
The laptop retains a slim profile under 18mm thin and weighs under 4.5 pounds, balancing desktop-grade processing with mobile flexibility.
Mini-LED PixelSense Ultra Touchscreen and Magnetic Connect Charging
Visuals are anchored by a 15-inch PixelSense Ultra touchscreen display that reaches up to 2,000 nits of peak HDR brightness, surpassing the peak HDR output of competing pro notebooks.
Complementing the display is a 30 percent larger haptic touchpad that provides tactile responsiveness across creative editing suites and developer workflows.

Microsoft is also introducing Magnetic Connect, representing the first built-in magnetic USB-C charging implementation on a laptop.
The right-side port magnetically secures the power connector while retaining full functionality for high-speed data transfer, video output, and external USB-C accessories.

Connectivity is rounded out by two additional USB-C ports, a legacy USB-A port, an HDMI output, an SD card reader, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and support for up to three external 4K monitors.
Canadian Pricing, Trade-In Promotion, and October Release Date
In Canada, the Surface Laptop Ultra starts at CAD 3,899.99 for consumer models, while commercial configurations for business begin at CAD 4,099.99.
Pre-orders are live now through the Microsoft Store and select authorized Canadian retailers, with official shipments scheduled to begin on October 16, 2026.
Canadian buyers can also take advantage of a limited-time trade-in program running through November 23, 2026, offering up to CAD 1,300 in cash back when trading in an eligible MacBook Pro.
