Samsung Electronics said the Galaxy Z8 series has achieved record-high pre-order sales across Southeast Asia and Oceania, with the Galaxy Z Fold8 emerging as the most popular model in the lineup.
According to Samsung, pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra increased by almost 60% compared with the Galaxy Z Fold7 across the region. The pre-order period is scheduled to end on August 13.
In the Philippines, Samsung said the Galaxy Z Fold8 has become its best-selling foldable smartphone during a pre-order period, accounting for almost 60% of Galaxy Z8 orders since July 22. At its peak, Samsung said nearly one Galaxy Z8 series device was sold every minute during the Philippine pre-order period.

Galaxy Z Fold8 leads regional demand
Samsung said the Galaxy Z Fold8 accounts for almost six out of every 10 Galaxy Z8 devices ordered across Southeast Asia and Oceania.
The company attributed the demand to the Fold8’s redesigned form factor, which delivers immersive viewing, reading, and gaming.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 features a 7.6-inch main display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and weighs 201 grams, making it Samsung’s lightest Galaxy Z Fold smartphone.
Samsung said the device is designed around content such as short-form videos, webtoons, games, and e-books, with its larger main display providing more space for viewing and multitasking.
Fold8 Ultra targets productivity-focused users
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is for users who want a larger workspace for productivity and content creation.
The device features an 8-inch main display, along with an upgraded camera system that includes a 200MP main camera.
Samsung said the larger display provides additional space for multitasking, while the camera system can capture greater detail, color, and clarity.
The Fold8 Ultra is also Samsung’s slimmest Galaxy Z Fold design, measuring 4.1mm when unfolded and weighing 215 grams.
Flip8 focuses on portability and self-expression
The Galaxy Z Flip8, meanwhile, is for users who prioritize portability and self-expression.
Samsung describes it as its sleekest Flip smartphone to date, with a redesigned FlexWindow that allows users to access apps, information, actions, and assistance directly from the cover screen.
The Flip8 weighs 180 grams and measures 6.1mm when unfolded.
Graphite remains popular across models
Samsung also revealed the most popular color choices among Galaxy Z8 buyers in Southeast Asia and Oceania.
For the Galaxy Z Fold8, Graphite and Lavender were the top choices, while Violet Shadow and Graphite were the preferred colors for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.
For the Galaxy Z Flip8, Pink and Graphite emerged as the most popular options.
Galaxy Watch9 and Watch Ultra2 join the ecosystem
Alongside the new foldables, Samsung also launched the Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2 as part of its broader connected-device ecosystem.
The Galaxy Watch9 is an everyday health and wellness companion, while the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is perfect for users who want greater endurance and durability for outdoor activities.
Samsung said the watches work with the Galaxy Z series to provide more connected experiences across smartphones and wearables.

Smart Switch and Quick Share
